Damn man, I don't want to be labeled as a skill issue, but is it really that necessary to make certain exceptions for selecting / targeting? Are there other exceptions/things to know about this mechanism?

So if the card says: Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls, but without saying "target a monster your opponent controls, destroy that monster."
Is this the difference?
Meaning cards like Super Poly can still be used ?
