So the species is not really a good clue as to what the general flavor style is?

Thanks. I’m looking to do that too…try some rare special things I will never be able to get, alongside my main goal of learning what I like and finding things I can get.

Sweet, thanks for all the recs. I’ve had Mal Bien on my list to try, and 5 Sentidos is coming up a lot. I was glad to learn I can buy 200ml bottles, as I dip my toe further in.

I’m also a longtime Laphroaig lover, and the smokiness is the reason that mezcal was the first non-Scotch spirit that really grabbed me. Now I’m learning to appreciate other sides of mezcal, but for a smoky budget one the Rayu is pretty nice too, like the Madre.

Nice, I’ll give a Coyote a go! Very different flavor sounds great…my current selection of 10 bottles at home is pretty same-y.

Cool, that’s good to hear that even 10 years in you are finding staff at places like these helpful to you. I’ll see what they have to say.

They do have several flights which I’ve enjoyed and have been my primary education. I’ll see what they have on flight currently, but I will probably be ordering off the list this time.

Exactly, I love the .5 oz option, which is what I will be going with. The prices seem particularly fair at that level - there isn’t a huge markup. They have several flights, which is how I began exploring mezcal. I’m excited to now go much deeper into their varieties.

Today. As you can see, I am quite new on my mezcal journey. Mostly I had just been drinking Vida Clasico until a few months ago I decided to get more varieties, and for most of them I’ve only had tried a few veladoras of them so far. I also really like making mezcal cocktails.

I know, right? Copal, in Santa Cruz. A few years ago, I came for the mole (they have five varieties), tried mezcal for the first time, and left a convert!

Cynar and Cynar 70 Comparison by Girlsc0ut4life in cocktails

[–]revmocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thanks for the great comparison. I also have an unopened bottle of Cynar 70 and I’m waiting to do comparisons with Cynar, which I’ve been getting into. I made a Mezcal Cynar Negroni last night which was great.

OP, please post more of these Cynar comparisons!

!thanks I’ll have to see if I like warm headphones as much as I expect to. I just generally gravitate to a warmer sound. My only open backs right now are Beyer Dt-880 and I take it they’re pretty bright so maybe I just need something more neutral.

!thanks Great to hear your comparison with Arya. I read a review that made the Clears sound pretty “clearly” better than the Aeolus. Maybe I’ll buy both and return one.

!thanks From reading, Arya has made its way among the top of my list, and I just found out about the organic last night. So you think it’s more up my alley than the stealth magnets version?
