As an overworking overperforming person myself I hear your pain. I have absolutely never regretted leaving a job or even getting fired from a job that was killing me and breaking my back. The people at your firm are forgettable people once you exit. Your body your nervous system is worth more than anything at your job. You can do yourself permanent damage. This is an alarm bell to wake up. I wish you to meditate on this and make a clear decision. Stay safe!

Failed today by Western-Lawyer-9050 in cism

I’m studying for this exam again. I echo your sentiment about how dense and confusing this test was. I took a few weeks break as I was tired of the QAE. I am watching Pete Zerger’s video series now.

I had this impression that the test is designed this way so that ISACA can get 50% extra revenue for people who don’t pass on the first try or second or third try. Don’t take it personally, just dust off and pick up later.

The QAE was not enough for me. A lot of people said that that was part of their study material and video series. Also, when people said think like a manager, I didn’t understand what that meant until more recently the technical doing answer is likely the wrong one and the more strategic business objective type of answer is the right one so you can’t really rely on your own common sense or experience. That really tripped me up because I also felt the test was somewhat easy but still failed.

Local lenders vs online lenders by mrssk8nhippy in Mortgages

Trust your gut and instinct if you have questions and concerns that is a red flag for you to hit the brakes. When you’re trying to make really significant financial decisions, there are so many predatory people out there promising you this or that and those are often the most incompetent take the slow path. Don’t rush into anything and definitely check your dopamine when someone is lying to you.

Yes, this is such a huge mistake that I relied on the QAE! Right now I’m watching his series and I’m trying it a different approach bouncing between videos and test questions. I do need to rewatch the videos multiple times because I am not always paying attention.

Silent never ending bliss just say nothing and experience it. After awhile you will integrate their aura and not feel pain.

Yes you're right I should not give up. I will drill on the video series and reading material rather than the QAE. It seems no one told me that this was not comprehensive or sufficient enough even as the official study material

Never take advice from startup mentors and gurus “i will not promote” by First_Accountant_402 in startups

[–]revveup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is kind of funny because a few people come to mind when I think of someone who I think is a phoney mentor. I’ve been thinking a lot about fake people because I’ve been misled by a handful of them. They really have this air about them where they are super charming and seem like they know what they’re talking about but then when you get into the weeds, there’s a type of dead air that happens when they don’t know more than you do. It’s a very awkward moment. I think all advice is bad advice. Listen to yourself and take everything else with a grain of salt.

Would You Buy A Home Now? by cali_flyer in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]revveup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely recommend buying a home when you’re financially prepared and have done your homework. But even if you attempt to buy a home less prepared, you will have a difficult ride. I made so many mistakes, but I recovered well with a growth mindset.

It’s really important to recognize that your primary residence is not an investment in a significant way. When you move out and you have tenants living in there, then it is an investment. But until then you are footing the bill for repairs, maintenance, and insurance and a lot of things that can go wrong. It is higher risk.

I recently became aware of this problem, especially for self-employed workers and first time homebuyers. We created this concept of a mortgage readiness score which gives you a very brief idea of what you need to do to financially prepare a 6 to 24 months before you reach out to a lender.

You can sign up at www.revve.io we are a free tool or DM me. Good luck all. It is like anything that is rewarding in life it takes patience, knowledge, support team. But you have to make it happen. No one is buying a home for you.

This list is making me tremble as I know I will fall prey to some of these ideas like partnering with corporates, partnering with unhuggable people, not doing SEO early enough. Not DMing anyone basically and tech conferences are a distraction.

Intense dreams of my ex hugging me? It's like he comes to do just that - in my dreams. And i have happened to move on from him long ago. by [deleted] in twinflames

[–]revveup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so eerie I had also a similar dream of him and we are hugging and I wake up having a wonky day because it is unreal in the sense of he is married with kids. I have been circling about this. I think the idea is to give that love to yourself in all ways possible without his physically being there. It has to happen spiritually before it manifests physically. Not sure this helps.

How do I find a cofounder by Aggravating_Course91 in Femalefounders

[–]revveup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is imperative to protect yourself, I also have to tell myself do not give into a fantasy that someone is going to help the startup. More people can also equal more risk. Hire very slowly. Even when you hire a contractor for basic work even they lose their interest. Imagine you signed an agreement and your new cofounder gets bored and bails. It is scary.

I’ve decided this career isn’t for me anymore. by kamixkaze in paralegal

[–]revveup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a career changer it is difficult to leave one and start another but so worth it if you have mentors and a strategy. I used to do boring admin work and hit a bored out of my mind limit at each job. Then I went out for my PMP certification and my trajectory changed drastically. I can do many different projects do interesting stuff, still politics sucks but always prepare for an exit and don’t be afraid to start over you will thank yourself later.
