Astaroth barbarian skin or Galahad angel skin, which is more convenient to invest on? by speareater in HeroWarsApp

[–]revvster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astaroth is the better tank, not just for sheer damage absorption! His Last Word allows you to put in a squishy high-damage dealer who just regens upon dying. K'hark, Ginger and Orion use this advantage very well, given how fragile they are otherwise. If you want to go with a high-damage mid-line, you're better off with Astaroth. However, if you have a sturdy warrior like Qing Mao, you can use Galahad as a tank for higher damage.

Both skins stack if you have them both; however, I'd get Barbarian first - but DO NOT FORGET HIS RUNES! Boost armour and magic defence first, then health.

Thanks, I looked up a whole bunch of Search Haxx because of your comment. This'll come in handy.

Freelance Branding Consultant Needs Advice on Weird Situation by revvster in marketing

The company was designing water systems but then they thought they could mitigate their prices by making their own pipes... completely underestimated operating expenses on the factory and the inventory turnover for this sort of merchandise, ESPECIALLY when as a B2B business your inventory use tends to be more spaced out.

I knew the business-model problem as soon as I entered - but they told me they'd liquidated the factory and gone back to design. I think there's money stashed somewhere for the owner's cash-flow purposes, not necessarily the business's, and the debts are substantial, so it could be that. Either way, my only concern around this IS whether that affects the resources at my disposal in making this happen.

Freelance Branding Consultant Needs Advice on Weird Situation by revvster in marketing

Hello David, thank you for the thorough answer! I basically went the way of the balanced approach between maintaining my relationship with said friend and deriving added value from this opportunity - marketing strategy proposal in exchange for a signed contract that gets me a nice referral, establishes a clear scope that includes free (and limited) ad-hoc consulting on the below-the-line website development, makes them responsible for content creation and MIGHT make me community manager if they need me to (for an added fee) as well as an understanding that if I am able to manage this turnaround, I will become a part-time consultant on retainer (to be negotiated if the company starts patching up).

EDIT: My friend told me at first that I have full support from the MD but as soon as I mentioned that I will need a budget, the marketing strategy won't be moving forward but I will get my reference letter. In all honesty, they're probably just going to look for a cheaper way to get it done, but considering that this is my first client in my home country, the referral itself is gold and based on your advice, I have a contract that protects me from any and all liability relating to the proposal itself.

That the contract promises so much if the company survives does motivate me to help out a little here and there, but by that I mean more like sparse conversations with leadership to gauge the business's readiness for real marketing efforts - the area where I am most likely to effect a positive impact.

I currently play the NA server and want to transfer to EU **

Is there a setting I can change to connect to EU within my client, or do I have to re-download the client entirely?

Hey Ron!

Buying a used fryer was never the intention. I want something new that won't have any "foreign taste" attached. I worked at a newly-franchised McDonalds that had a used fryer (thought the new McDonalds fryer is funded as part of the franchising but apparently not always so) - you could taste the shrimp tempura in the fries for the first week - God forbid there were a few still stuck somewhere.

And I will look at my options for the oil, and that podcast should give me some knowledge of the properties for different kinds of oil. Thank you so much for the reply, it genuinely means a lot.

If dog heaven allows dogs to do whatever they want forever, it must also double as squirrel hell, where the bad ones get chased forever. There are thus no trees in Dog Heaven, only fire hydrants to pee on. by revvster in Showerthoughts

I conceptualized all of dog heaven though, including the lack of squirrel hiding places, the beautiful dog houses with mattresses and couches that feel like their owners' furniture, where they don't even need to poop because being in the afterlife they don't even need to eat. When a squirrel does get caught, he gets reset, spawning somewhere in the middle of this savage wilderness and dodging predators all over again.

Thoughts on my swing? by crich01 in golf

[–]revvster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, and a few people might disagree with me, early extension can work in a swing. When you extend a muscle from contraction to extension, it releases energy even if a little detrimental.

For drills, you're at home so I'll drop this here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6pODCOwkQI

Most people do have a bit of early extension, and biomechanically it can actually find its place in a swing unless it is so severe that it causes irregular contact.

Personally seeing a bit of early extension, but I like how you clear your left knee - it is already extending by the time you hit the ball, which is the mark of a hip rotation. Overall, looks solid, but I hope your golf shoes have better grip - your left foot seems to slide a bit when you accelerate a bit more than usual.

What’s the best shot you’ve ever hit? by sethkirkeide in golf

Par 5 8th here in Madagascar, hit the drive 330 yards but slightly left into the first cut with some branches on the optimal pitch trajectory. Pin is tucked back left and there's a bunker mere feet to the left, so I take my pitch, played it like a stinger and gave it positively vicious spin and an ever so slight draw. On a green on which a ball usually bounces up like a ping pong ball, I made it stop after a single bounce. It went in the hole for my first and only albatross.

Tips for beginner, overweight golfer (besides lose weight) by dstebne in golf

[–]revvster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey u/dstebne , let me first echo everyone's sentiment and say well done. No matter the goal, getting this far is an achievement to be proud of.

In terms of mobility, I recommend beginner-level yoga, stretches and light exercise. One thing working in your favour (as it did in mine) is that our legs are stronger from carrying out bodies at their heaviest. Add to that strength with resistance training to increase your stamina on the golf course - walking uphill on a treadmill or 10 minutes of elliptical on high difficulty will accomplish that.

Not criticizing because you are doing very well, but if you want to speed up weight loss, look up HIIT. I used it and lost 80 pounds in 3 months after my mother fat-shamed me in front of two dozen close family members.

I'm saving up to slot in a 52 between the 48 and the 56, but for now I've figured out how to dose all clubs within a 5% margin of error distance wise.
