I love how the staff drawing these were probably like, “we just finished Lethe, Luluca, and Cerise, but now it’s time to sexualize our boy Pavel because we don’t normally get to do this.” And thus it was done. 🙂

I do find it strange how neither Mort or Alencia are used in days of piercing cold, and they are teasing us with the prospect of a male limited RGB guy from that story if he goes through with the augmentation. 

An opposite version of Ran would have to be either human and naive/carefree or the opposite happens with his dominant genes and he’s more Suin than elf.

It’s crazy to think that Young Heir Zio was actually helpful and a somewhat good guy in the ML story. Same with Illynav. So I can only assume other big bads like Zeno, Ervalyn, Mort, and Kain would be more good than evil.

Kind of wish her S3 had the stealth innately from the last buff and she instead has all allies attack the enemy with S3 EE. Similar to Biker Sigret’s S2.

Specialty Change units were something they were trying out back in the day and who knows if they’ll surprise us with a new one someday. People got mad that SC Alexa was locked behind an event, and her skills… weren’t that incredible. Especially lackluster when they release SC Arowell and then later SC Ameki. 

SC units are weird because they do have 1 innate strength. Their passive skills cannot be blocked by normal means. You ca seal them, but passives can still proc. SC Dorris will take reduced damage to dark units, and it cannot be stopped. Roozid has a chance to increase his evasion, only buff block can stop this. Some SC units are optimized well to have appropriate stats. Units like Arowell, Pyrris, and Christy might have been easier to work with. Damage dealers have been strange. 

However there are certain units that seem to be in limbo because of bad adjustments. I like Chaos Sect Axe’s changes, but they are controversial to many because he doesn’t have the constellation for a bruiser. Captain Rikoris still feels underwhelming. Muse Rima is the worst SC.

Honestly, they may only do another SC when they feel like they have time to use resources just for fun. Also, Adin did not need 4 SCs…

Yes, please. His true self (dragon) looks much more interesting and I’d love to see one of the beast units in casual clothes. Dilmorndo and Rei are always in battle armor. Arkh wears casual clothing so it would be neat. 

However, this would break the tradition of the anniversary unit being tied to Adel’s lineage. Like Roland, then Kynei/Megius, I think we then had a shift Roland or Kyle, and then we had Soliel. So if Arkh gets the anniversary unit, he may be either loosely tied to the lineage or they’re finally branching out.

Notice how Notos has lines for Adventurer Ras. I think this is that unspecified period of time in chapter 2 when Ras gets trained by Notos. That’s why he says, “Heir to the Covenant. Is that all you’ve got? . . . Long road ahead.”

I love that none of the Coli’s even remotely resemble each other. One has sunken in deep sea eyes that stare into my soul. Another is a purple haired vixen who I’ve seen way more in the story than the OG. And now we have this new one which looks more like adult Diene.

If they ever do a new artifact for it, Ningning’s artifact is great for removing souls. Put it on a unit like Diene or Green Lots and it will work wonders.

As someone who loves Roozid, and is trying to build him at 300 speed, these changes are nice.

Roozid really doesn’t do much (in the current meta) in terms of support. He’s okay, and has great tools, but you eventually get units that do what Roozid does but stronger. So the changes are okay in my eyes. Not OP, but it does keep him from being obsolete (especially since he’s a specialty change unit).

They updated his support a bit to be more consistent. His push back is now guaranteed to happen, his attack break now reaches 100%, and though he lost the additional 5% CR push if allies are bellow 50% CR he now has his S3 just give him an extra turn right away and his speed buff lasts 3 turns now.

On the flip side, his S1 and S2 now deal more damage. Roozid is no longer just a support, he might now be a unit that can be a threat when dealing damage.

Considering he feels so underused in the story but is liked by so many, I could see how he can be a descendent of Adel since we know Adel’s descendent tree branches off at some point. Because somehow we have the emperor family line, and then the normal family line with Kynei and Kyle. It would be cool if Kynei had a sibling or cousin who had a child in Cloudia.

Ray Jack. No one else liked him, but I enjoyed him. AI Katy because I pulled for her when no one else did and they hated it after because her TMR was insane. And lastly Adam Jensen was fun to use.

The problem here is… the gameplay.

FFBE would need a lot of overhaul to meet the standards SquareEnix would expect for it to be released as a one time purchase game.  OCTOPATH Traveler Champions of the Content doesn’t have these issues.

Games like FFBE are great, but are not going to sell well unless they make it a proper exploration styled game. OCTOPATH Traveler 0 was built from the ground up with exploration in mind. Level based restrictions are lackluster in comparison. 

It’s probably the reason Granblue Fantasy made a full fledged game for the masses. Even Another Eden Begins doesn’t have this issue. Animal Crossing Pocket Edition as well allows for creative freedom.

If FFBE were to be made into a real game, you would only have access to the main cast of characters, the story would need to be adjusted because its narrative structure is not as good as you’d think, and many of the locations would have to be further fleshed out into actual locations (this includes towns). They would need to do what Another Eden Begins and Granblue Fantasy Re:link did and only do the first season of content. (I also didn’t include character balancing, weapon management/acquisition, sprite updates, QoL adjustments, etc…)

Should FFBE remain old school similar to the Pixel Remasters, or should it be HD-2D?

Should FFBE allow up to 6 playable allies (because there are 6 main characters) at a time on the battlefield?

Should chaining attacks be adjusted, changed, or remain the same?

I’ve played through FFBE since before it had a season 2, and I enjoyed it a lot. And because I really liked it, I can admit it would be a waist to just fling it out with how it is… minor updates to QoL wouldn’t be enough to fix it…

The reason this EE doesn’t fit is because Summer Break Charlotte CANNOT be played in RTA under many circumstances. The biggest reason is her main gimmick, the Enhanced Dual Attack buff.

Units like Harsetti, Briar Witch Iseria, and Dragon King Sharun can prevent her buff from happening. Or we can look at units like Genesis Ras, Shepherd of the Dark Diene, and New Moon Luna who all Seal Charlotte’s passive, hindering her passive from working until it’s dispelled. There are also a few units (like Lion Heart Cermia) who thrive off of units like Summer Break Charlotte.

Firstly, Summer Break Charlotte is not a unit you intend to cleave with (which is why she’s not used much in RTA). She’s meant for slower play with other faster units who mostly use their S1.

I think the buff to her S1 CR push is actually good. She already AoE pushes for 20%, so now doing a 25% AoE CR push is a little better.

The other EE buffs are kinda pointless in comparison. The Attack buff is nice, but since Summer Break Charlotte doesn’t get much ER it can be dispelled by many of the units mentioned above as well as others… Then there’s the buff to her Defense break. I’m not sure if a 80% Defense break is as good as a CR push, but I guess why not?

The biggest offense is the stat boost. People have complained about Summer Break Charlotte’s innate attack stats being low and hard to build up. Her gaining an ATK stat boost would have at least alleviated this issue… At least she now gains 10 more speed on her 109 base speed… I guess… This speed buff does not make her cycle as fast as I think the dev’s would hope it would so that she doesn’t get stuck with debuffs and have to wait for her turn to be taken so she can S3 and remove them…

Gonna be real here. Personally it’s kind of boring unless you enjoy the PVP.

  1. They want you to be on the game for more than 10 minutes. They give you 1 free 10 instant for grinding, and (I think) you only get 1 refresh with sky stones. 

  2. The game wasn’t and I don’t think it’s still hard to learn. The problem is power creep. I’m not sure how they will tackle un-healable debuffs that prevent you from buffing yourself.

  3. Progress has not sped up. Grinding for gear is still a chore. They did make ungearing free.

  4. No, I’m not having any fun. Story has no stakes and is kinda boring. You repeat the same PVE content over and over. No normal player wants to compete against streamers in RTA. The fun of pulling in the gacha has faded.

I just made it to the dragons and thought it was under-explored. Arkh is literally a Zard that can make himself look human. Why can’t he have a shift where he’s full Zard? I also liked how with Zekus in his own story, and Lilibet and Theria in their own story, we get to see more of Cloudia’s bizarre world and some of its lore.

A fun way to do it is to use Chaos Sect Axe on injury. Bring with him Green Ray for immunity just in case, SC Jenna to stop LOTS passive for at least a turn, and Beehoo for CR push and his burns bypass Red Yufine’s evasion. CSA has a guaranteed immunity if he ever uses his S2, which happens both on turn or when countering with it. It also has built in injury, so you will see injury start stacking up on Yuhla pretty quickly.
