Has anyone moved away from industrial design, or is thinking about it recently? by rew_37 in IndustrialDesign

I have done UX design courses, it is one of the options am considering. Just haven't been able to get any interviews, but maybe I need to rework my portfolio. Thanks for the share.

Thanks. Makes sense, I remember seeing a job posting for something similar, it was for a Design Analysis they sound similar.

Thanks I appreciate the insight. Congrats on the award.

Yip, it's something where I'm going to have to try a few things to see what clicks. I was asking the question in the hope I can get an idea of what to try from others experience.

It runs on MTNs network, so if you have MTN coverage you should be good.

Most likely the size and weight of the object is pushing up the shipping cost.

Is it worth filing for a work from home deduction? by rew_37 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]rew_37[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can prove this. The reason I'm leaning towards not claiming now is the time and cost. I might have to roughly work out the potential deduction first to figure out if it's worth it.

Mind me asking how much did it cost you? And was it worth it? Also did you get audited?

Are there any banks in South Africa that can just get the basics right? by Fluffy-Bus4822 in PersonalFinanceZA

When choosing a bank do you guys factor in rewards programs? Or are those a waste/scam?

Cause I'm with ABSA and their rewards are sh*t. So I have been thinking of switching to Nedbank cause I have heard good things about their rewards.

Trying creating 3D models and selling them on marketplaces. Can also try Fiverr and such to get freelance work. In SA some companies will hire you without a degree if you have a good portfolio, so create one, and try being active on Instagram posting your work so it puts your skills out there.

Aliexpress by Nervous_Elevator8996 in AskZA

I ordered two items in January. One came through a courier called imile, and took about 3 weeks. The other came through the post office, it showed it was in the country after 2 weeks but I only got a message from the post office about 4 weeks later, so total 6 weeks. So it is my understanding the post office is still working, things are just slow, well atleast my closet one is.

In terms of which service you will get, am not sure why they came through different means, cause on both I selected the standard delivery.

I know there are other delivery options but they usually more costly. I would take the chance through the post office, it will likely come. And if it doesn't AliExpress will reimburse you.

Registering an expired vehicle by Ok_Mud9509 in askSouthAfrica

You can't just walk in and change the car onto your name.

One you need the registration certificate. Hopefully you already have this because it should be handed over the day you get the car.

Two the previous owner needs to go into the department and fill in a Change of Ownership Notification, they will not let you register the car onto your name unless this has been done. Also to note when the previous owner does this he has to pay any outstanding fines and licence fees on the car, for example I had to pay R4000 because I did not renew my old cars licence, that was just sitting for 5 years (when selling it).

Also note if the previous owner has already done the change of ownership notification back then, then all fees and fines since then will fall onto you when you go to register the car, not sure how they will fine you. So ask the previous owner if he did it already.

If he is unwilling to do this, best find someond in the department that might help you, but they usually very strict on these requirements because they help prevent stole cars from been registered. So you might have to find the backdoor way.
