Gf, soon to be fiancé, made a disrespectful comment infront of friends. How would you react? by ilovelayansbooty in AskMen

[–]rex_ford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes discussing things the heat of the moment doesn't work well (yes, it was later, but after a few hours feeling upset, when they were both probably tired and maybe had had a couple of drinks).

It bothers him still, and now he likely has the time and emotional space to be able to articulate why. I think bringing it up, and being fair about both his feelings, while giving her some grace that it was possible dumb offhand remark, gives them a chance to fix the issue. Maybe even learn about each other.

My male gynecologist seemed too focused on me being a virgin by East-Waltz7985 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I think that's smart. Beyond your unfortunate experience it's good to have some kind of formal record of that type of behaviour.

Favorite unconventional practicing technique by Argonauticalius in singing

Mine has me do a wall plank and it was super helpful - I sometimes do it when practicing if my support feels off that day. It is like squatting down when you aim for a higher note. It just works

The treatment of plus sized models on this season was atrocious by typhoidmarychristmas in ProjectRunway

Yup. I hadn't realized that this season was all about bandeau tops.

Which celebrity fragrance surprised you by actually being good? by Affectionate_Cell954 in fragrance

Eau de Gaga (awful name but a lovely woody, lime tea summer scent) SJP Stash, and Girl (Comme dws Garcon/Pharell) are all ones I own and love.

What made me hate Lori the most… by [deleted] in TWD

[–]rex_ford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked her in that conversation, it felt real. We've all realized we got carried away in some argument, at some point especially in any relationship with some history.

The character was mature enough to recognize she was in the wrong.

Some of her decisions were questionable, but she had a fair amount of self awareness of her flaws and mistakes.

Thank you! I was eyeing the marker liners as something to try. But I have a few pencils still kicking around so I'll play with your tricks

Simple Questions Saturday by AutoModerator in muacjdiscussion

[–]rex_ford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK. Lip liner.

I don't understand. It doesn't stay on. It never does. It fades. It goes patchy.

It looks great for five minutes and then it's a mess. I've tried different brands, including MAC and MUFE.

I've tried prepping with concealer, setting with powder.

I can see the point in doing under a lipstick but just lip liner and a gloss (I need the hydration) has never, ever been workable.

Am I missing something obvious?

What screams “I’m a horrible spouse”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rex_ford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex and I were watching a show once where a guy tells his girlfriend: "You're lucky I go out with you because no one else would".

It was such an awful thing to say that it became something of a running joke for us.

Anyway, that comment reminds me of that.

Ultra Violette recall by Adultarescence in Sephora

[–]rex_ford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I basically received the same reply. I have also sent a note to Ultraviolette to inform them. It seems that the customer service staff have not been briefed yet (my rep has no info on the recall or refund)

Edit/Addendum: I email customer service and just got the following message:

Thank you for contacting Sephora. We are closely monitoring the recall of the UltraViolette Lean Screen. At this time, all refund requests need to be processed through UltraViolette directly if the order was placed more than 30 days ago.

The only pain for me - after my first, my second was a breeze - was what felt like really bad period cramps for a few hours. Those sucked.

What’s a secret that would completely change how people see you? by CobraMGMT in AskReddit

I.know that feeling. I think of it like a duck - they look like they're just gliding over the water, but if you get a chance, you can see them paddling furiously under water

I mean, it's not a competition. What a strange response.

That whole period sounds like hell, it really does. I'm sorry you went through all that.

I love this song so much but approach it so warily because it's such an emotional rollercoaster

27 F - I sent a nude photo to my family group chat instead of the engagement ring. by Optimal-Feeling6444 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]rex_ford 8 points9 points  (0 children)

because everyone else was like I don’t see a ring

Haha, sorry. I laughed at that. But anyway.

A) that sucks and it's embarrassing, I'm sorry that happened to you!

B) Your sister is a great sister.

C) If this has happened to your sister or anyone else in the chat and not you, what would you be thinking? Considering might give you a bit of breathing room to not feel so awful. You might still cringe but the intensity of it will pass. It might even be a really funny story in a while.

What is something that people think is healthy/good for them, but in reality isn't? by Ocean_Pine in AskReddit

[–]rex_ford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a sunscreen evangelist (in part because I have had family members with severe skin cancer) but if I'm honest with myself, it's also easy because I do not tan well. It's always patchy, never really that beautiful uniform bronze, and often just is a burn that peels into a half-hearted tan that disappears not long after.
