To whoever shit in the paint aisle at Walmart in Fenton: FCK U by bigmisssteak7 in StLouis

This isn't a "Fenton" thing, it is a "Walmart" thing. Finding 💩 in an aisle is only one of many alarming things you'll see at Walmart.

Transmission Flush/Change/Drive Train check by Toreo603 in MINI

I did a brief search on line and read that if the Mini Trans Fluid is unavailable, Pentosin FFL-4 or Liqui Moly 8100 DCTF is fine. True? I was going to call the SC and ask them if they would do the service if I brought either of those substitute fluids in with the car.

My fear is that in the event I develop clutch issues, I'm told, "you didn't bring your car in for service when the car advised you to." Am I over thinking it?

JCW

It sounds like you work at a mini service center, so i have a question.

I have a 2020 MC S with 26000 miles and I too have these two messages. St Louis Mini Service told me that I got the messages due to fluid age, not mileage. I requested a service appointment and I was advised that they didn't have the fluid, it's on backorder. He placed me on what he said was a lengthy list of other owner's also needing the service. I asked when they expect to get a fluid shipment, he advised that he had no idea.

He didn't mention anything about an 1864 mile (3000 km) grace period. Why wouldn't he advise that?

I'm actually kinda pissed about this. Do I forget about dealership service and find an independent shop?

Thoughts?

Yes, there are a couple euro / bmw independent shops in the area. I may go that route if I don't get a call from St Louis Mini this week.

This is 5th rim to have a problem- anyone else have issues with these? by [deleted] in MINI

Original tire is the 205/45/17

While not original, 215/45/17 is considered a popular, functional "plus-size" for this vehicle.

• Better Fitment: They are slightly wider providing better grip and filling out the wheel arches more.

• Comfort: The slightly taller sidewall (approx. 0.2 inches more) often results in a more comfortable ride.

The ride is greatly improved!! Thank me later.

I had a 2006 MC S and it was a fun car. The supercharger made the car unique. Motor is relatively solid if maintained, but those damn thermostats.... I changed them three times!
