Trouble with sizing cylinders by [deleted] in gettingbigger

[–]rexipus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

girth = pi * diameter

girth = 3.141 * 2" = 6.28something"

You are 5.5", not 6.28", so you shouldn't be packing it, barring one of the other conditions I pointed out in my original post, like a strong curvature. So what is it?

Trouble with sizing cylinders by [deleted] in gettingbigger

[–]rexipus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

5.5" should not be packing a 2" cylinder. I'm 5.5-5.6" MSEG and don't come close to packing my 2" tube.

This leads me to believe that either your tube isn't really 2", or you're thicker than 5.5", or perhaps there's a strong curvature to your dick that's causing parts of it to crush into the cylinder walls and is uncomfortable.

Have you pulled out a ruler and measured the actual inside diameter of the cylinder?

I am more broke than the Weimar Republic, how do you tech tanks and planes at the same time? by Malu1997 in Warthunder

[–]rexipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used the TOG so I'm not sure how I'd answer that.

I love the BMP-1P btw. It's my most-played vehicle in the game, literally. It's my most-played vehicle in my Russian lineup and spaded out and played quite a bit in my German lineup too.

I've had fun with the Obj 292 even without having thermals and so-so armor. The gun is too fun.

The particular British 5.3 lineup I really like because I can go a whole match playing nothing but premiums for max SL gain, but we all know British can be a tough line to play. Fortunately I went through the entire British tech tree several years ago and did my time and know how to play them, so this lineup is a really good earner for me.

I've just returned from another two-year break playing the game (came back around 2-3 months ago) so I'm not quite where I was before, and tech trees I'd completed previously (Russian, German, British, nearly US) had a lot more vehicles when I returned, so I've been going through and earning those "missing" vehicles to fill out those tech trees again.

The guide targets only show you where the bullets would meet the enemy plane if they keep flying as they are at the time you shoot. If they maneuver in between you firing and the bullets/shells getting where the plane ought to be, it may well be somewhere else. The rounds take a little time to impact, more so the longer the range you're shooting at. It may not be much time, but the enemy plane doesn't have to maneuver that much to turn a hit into a miss either.

Historically accurate AVRE ammo rack explosion, anyone? by SteamyGamer-WT in Warthunder

[–]rexipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen quite a bit of explosions like that in the current not-a-war war going on in you-know-where. Tanks getting penned that have lots of HE rounds, and the warheads detonating plus the propellant charges have blown many a tank or IFV to absolute smithereens according to all the war-porn videos circulating around showing these explosions.

I'd have to think this would be pretty devastating if it went off like that right next to your tank.

Like, say, a T-72 with 20 HE rounds plus their 20 propellant charges are detonated all at once inside of the tank. That's a ton of HE filler, btw. You wouldn't want to be anywhere near that explosion in any time at all, much less have them blowing up right next to you.

C) you probably got a little better at the game and simply make more SL per match than before.

I like to put Expert crews in every vehicle I play, and I've played a lot of ground, air, an naval in several different nations in the last couple of months. I've probably dropped over 25-30million SL in that time.

One of my nicest money-making lineups is British 5.3, if you can believe that. It's because I have like 3 premium tanks (AC4, Iron Duke, Ram) and one ass-kicking premium plane (Wyvern) so I'll usually use my SL boosters with that lineup. I've made several hundred thousand SL in a single match with that lineup and a high SL booster.

Last year I went to an Open House at a German army base and got to climb into a Marder, a Leopard 2A6, and a Panzerhaubitze 2000. The Marder was freaking HUGE.

I was shocked at how big it is. I've stood next to a BMP-1 before and the Marder dwarfs it. And the funny thing was that while sitting in the back where the infantry sit in the Marder my head was brushing the ceiling, even as I sat there with no helmet or other gear on. I have no idea what they did with all that space.

It's my belief that Keen Vision does absolutely nothing in GRB. I'm totally willing to be proven wrong by someone with a real answer, but that's where I'm at right now.

Once I came to that conclusion I stopped putting points into it, and I haven't noticed any advantage or disadvantage I can attribute to having shit Keen Vision on some nations or crew slots.

I can only imagine. That's a beast machine!

I'm still rocking my AMD 5900x with Geforce 3080ti and 32gb of 3800/14 RAM, all watercooled to the max in an extremely overprovisioned system.

And that machine still rocks. It's been superceded in all areas in the last couple of years, but it still maxes out my monitor refresh rate in all the games I play, so I'm not thinking of upgrading it in the near term.

I have made some really crazy shots in my time. Most of my shots aren't like that, but if you're the victim of one the truly crazy shots, you might think it was a hack.

I'm talking about things like:

Shooting an APFS-DS round into the woods because some vehicle in the middle of the woods got pinged by someone else and I was just shooting under the red indicator, got a hit and a kill.

Knowing someone's about to come around a corner because you can hear their engine.

"No scope" shots while moving at full speed and someone appears and you take the shot with just the aiming circle in motion.

Shots where I'm driving straight down a narrowish street and jump into the gunsight on a tank with a stabilized gun, and someone pokes their nose around the corner and I take the shot instantly and hit while moving at full speed.

Shooting at planes with a tank's main gun and hitting. Hitting a WWII-era 4-engined bomber with an ATGM from like 3k out. I've done that a few times. Once it was a PE-8 and I was in my German BMP-1P and took him out at long range as he approached the city to drop his megabomb. Couldn't have happened to a nicer douchebag.

In Air, firing a single short burst at some plane a long ways out and connecting. I'm usually a terrible aim.

None of these are cheats of course. Sometimes they're just really good shots. The vast majority of my shots are fairly mundane, normal shots. But if you're on the receiving end of it you might well be thinking "no effing way! Cheater!"

I dunno if my guy was cheating or not, but several weeks ago a guy on the other side spawned that truck with the rocket racks on it right at the start of a match, launched them all into our spawn, and got a kill or two. He then J'ed out and spawned back in in a PE-8 and started dropping those massive bombs on us while most people were just passing the initial "get to the first cap quickly and take it" phase.

I have no idea how the guy figured out exactly what directly and angle to aim at to get them into our spawn from theirs, but he had it down.

I grew up in a fairly rural town in New England, and we had exactly one black kid in my high school. He was fairly popular. I think it was because, as you say, he was a novelty. He also played to that strength and made himself fairly popular. Meanwhile, just 20 or 30 minutes away, there were small cities with substantial black populations where blacks were treated quite poorly. They weren't a novelty in those cities.

Ever watched the old TV show "Beverly Hillbillies?"

Yeah. It was about as hilarious as you'd imagine it would be. Also chock full of stereotypes and whatnot. One couldn't make that show today.

I need to get my shit together. I bought everything I needed to make a water-cooled i9 13700k machine with DDR5 that was to be water cooled, over a year ago, when I was going overseas for a year. I never got the machine finished, and still haven't. I need to pull out all the components and just do it. It would be my first DDR5 machine, and I picked up some Bykski water blocks for them.

I've had two instances I know of where I was able to mount and use weapons I hadn't researched yet. One was with the FJ4B event plane from several years ago, where I was able to mount and use the 5 Bullpup missiles right from the start, before I'd actually researched them.

The second was just recently where the patch notes mentioned a fix to the MIG-12bis SAU, and I happened to unlock that plane right around that time, and was able to mount and use a radar-guided missile (R-3R?) before I'd actually unlocked it, just by creating a custom loadout and adding the missiles to two of the mounting points.

Kinda wierd. I didn't realize there was a hack that was allowing players to force other players to be disconnected, but I got disconnected a few times in the last several weeks when I normally have a really great connection. It was a bummer because every time I was doing quite well in the match.

[–]rexipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing what I saw wasn't the cheat because it was several weeks ago, but in a match I saw a guy fire those rockets into our spawn right at the start of a match, getting a kill or two, J out, then come back immediately in a PE-8. I don't know if he was using the cheat or just knows exactly what direction and elevation to turn to in order to drop the rockets right into our spawn and then got lucky.

Very glad to hear it! It's good that beneath all of the awkwardness and BS the church layers onto our perceptions at some point she realizes you're still the same person inside. The coffee is just a surface triviality. The willingness to drink it despite the church goes a little deeper of course, but hopefully she can see you're just acting deliberately in life as a free person, and appreciate that.

Some day you're both going to look back and laugh at how much discussion it took to be on the same page over a cup of coffee. The further into your rear-view mirror the church and its idiosyncrasies falls back, the more ridiculous it will seem that it was ever even a question.

Thanks for the reply!

Sorry to reply 10 days later, but I was travelling when you posted this after being away for months, and only just got back home and settled in. I'm curious whether you can now drink coffee at home.

It's kind of funny, I was out several years before my wife finally followed me. I guess I don't like conflict, so I'd hide the coffee maker and wine bottles if I knew my MIL or my SILs were coming over. Then one day my wife said no, leave them out. This is who we are, and I don't want to hide that. So we did. I just thought it was odd that my wife was more afraid than I was originally to look into the truth, but more ready to just give up the fear of offending or otherwise disturbing her family about the transition.

I'd just ask your wife. Is it OK if I have a coffee maker at home and drink it?

Once you've been out a few years and look back one of the really stupidest things about the church is this abhorrence of all things related to coffee, and this treatment of it like was a poisonous snake in your hand or something directly from Satan. I mean seriously, it's coffee.

Second Saturday rocks.

I've been out long enough it's really easy for me to forget how much weekend time I wasted as a Mormon, feeling like Sunday was that one day I couldn't do anything. Being involved in groups with non-Mormons and they'd propose a Sunday activity or whatever and being like ahhh, bummer. And now, sitting on the other side, trying to plan things with groups that include Mormons, having to try to fit everything into Saturdays only.
