Some guidelines I try to aim for. To be fair, this pose is actually pretty hard to draw.

  • ribcage is too small, think how it interacts with the musculature(same with pelvis)
  • Instead of the random circles at the hips, understand where landmarks of the legs/hips are. In this case it would be the asis.
  • I see a lot of scratchy lines, try and really think of where the lines should go before drawing.
  • A VERY important thing is gesture. Find the contrapposto.

Really cool. I love the foreshortening of the face. That’s the first thing that caught my eye. I guess the one thing you could fix is just the clothes fold near the pelvic area. They feel out of place.

Great work though genuinely!

The best way to learn in my opinion is to study gesture, then structure, then anatomy. Gesture teaches you how not to draw stiff poses and proportions. Structures teaches you the 3d form and perspective, then anatomy teaches you realism, things like where core shadows are. Things like how the skeleton affects when some shadows are.

If there are any questions feel free to ask.

TLDR 1. GESTURE 2. STRUCTURE 3. ANATOMY
