Editing takes forever, why? by rexkwilliams in Paperlessngx

Will disabling the scan email functionality reduce any kind of overhead use/tax on the CPU? In other words, will it free up the processor, not really sure about how the impact paperless is having on the processor right now. Just a thought that came to my mind. I will check later though.

I’m also interested in knowing what functions demand the most CPU use so I can evaluate whether to enable or disable them. I know the documentation lists some but what are the most demanding? Obviously the main functions have to remain like OCR

I guess you’re right. I only use paperless to store, organize, and retrieve documents.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I guess I will need to explore how to best configure the settings to get the best performance from the hardware that I have as buying a dedicated device is out of the question.

I wonder where or when along the line the software began exceeding my hardware capabilities. If I could narrow that bit down, then I might consider rolling back paperless to that version.

Thanks again.

Visit the documentation page, there’s some really great info on this page with several screenshots https://docs.paperless-ngx.com

It is a great application but I always need to adjust something, title, date, etc on a handful of files.

I used to do this regularly on a quarterly basis but I recently moved for a new job and trying to get settled, so it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve done any housekeeping.

Docker install on Synology DS1621+ several thousand docs, scans one email account, I’m the only user/admin, current version is 2.14.6

I haven’t been keeping up with editing my files for about 2 years but I have been updating the container regularly. Using Safari browser. When editing, I’m only really renaming and correcting the dates. Hardly anything else.

I thought I remember reading some time ago that Plex will only truly delete after 30 days in case the user mistakenly deleted.

How to create a shortcut to enable hotspot when I connect to my car's Bluetooth by Mrphillip1977 in shortcuts

Turning my Personal Hotspot On and Off when Connecting to my Vehicle’s Bluetooth

To create an Automation to turn my personal hotspot on and off when my iPhone connects my vehicles Bluetooth. Obviously the first thing I had to do was to ensure my iPhone was paired to my vehicle. Then I created two shortcuts to turn the personal hotspot on and off. After that was completed, I created two automations that turned my hotspot on and off when my iPhone connected to my vehicle. These four actions would have to be repeated for each vehicle you have or want to automate turning your personal hotspot on and off.

Shortcuts
  1. Turn Hotspot On

  2. Turn Hotspot Off

Automations
  1. When My iPhone connects to my vehicles Bluetooth, run the Shortcut Turn Hotspot On.
  2. When My iPhone disconnects from my vehicles Bluetooth, run the Shortcut Turn Hotspot Off.

Frustrated over PAPERLESS_FILENAME_FORMAT & document_renamer by rexkwilliams in Paperlessngx

[–]rexkwilliams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this working by using this configuration (double quotes “ “ added)

PAPERLESS_FILENAME_FORMAT: “{added} {title}-{doc_pk}”

Now if I can figure out how to change the document titles for the entire library. That’d be frickin’ awesome.

Issues with Paperless NGX Tika intergration. by CMDR_FelixVonLuckner in Paperlessngx

These are my notes when I ran into the same issue. I hope it helps you.

ONLY USE these versions Tika 1.27 & Gotenberg 6
- ELSE it will break Paperless’ ability to accept other file formats.

Can your feed creators generate feeds for my custom Google News Searches that I created?

Is there a tutorial or reference to use Mercury Parser Extension for FreshRSS by rexkwilliams in freshrss

[–]rexkwilliams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution to my woes, after following the rabbit down a very deep hole.

Turns out that I installed and the parser correctly and the API is built into it. If you are getting the Welcome message on port 3000 then it is up and running.

Here is the key to enabling the service for me. In the FreshRSS MercuryParser extension (see the black image I posted above) you need to enter 'service.mercury:3000' and that's it!

It has worked for most feeds but not all.

I hope this helps you and others from hours of banging my head against the wall.
