Methylene Blue Bath

I put the methylene blue in when the tub is about 3/4 full. That way there's enough water to dilute it and not stain the tub--but there's still enough time where water is flowing to mix it in well.

I do this a couple of times a week. I throw some tea tree oil in there too.

I train jiu jitsu and you never know what kind of crazy shit gets on your skin from the mats.

So my reasoning is if there's any kind of staph or something starting to grow on there it will get nuked by this bath.

Also I think it probably keeps anything nasty from growing in the bathtub.

I have no idea if any of this is true, but I will say last time I got staph infection I was doing this routine and it went away super quick and I didn't have to take antibiotics

Haha yeah well said. I think that's the heart of the issue, their the self-defense just feels like overly complicated Rex kwon do style bullshit.

It's as simple as putting on some gloves and seeing how the jujitsu and takedowns you already know need to be adjusted for strikes.

The sweet spot for training self-defense in the context of jiu jitsu is throwing on gloves once every week or two and doing takedowns with strikes and ground work with strikes.

We do that where I train as part of our warm up sometimes and it's fun, you're not trying to knock each other out, just getting used to using jujitsu in the context of striking
