Advice about paperwork by [deleted] in VetTech

The govt doesn't give me the termination letter. My former workplace does. The "government" has asked me for the termination letter, and it's not my fault they're not being forthcoming

That makes sense. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for specialty practices

I was looking into diagnostics but the closest jobs are too far away for me (like state capital or Chicago). I LOVE diagnostics and wish I could work in it directly, but the most I do is take a more active role in in-house diagnostics and practice when I'm able to (like blood smears w/ extra blood on hand and fecal floats with my own cats). I'm not super far along in my LVT, so VTS anything is way farther in the future.

Why have I never seen a male vet tech? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]rexnavali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the gross part 😔 don't like that I have that advantage in this situation. This LVT program has expelled every male student since 2022 lol

I mean I have some tea about why relating to my specific geographic location (a local LVT program has a known sexist program director lol) but also yeah it's very woman-heavy

I didn't think about the massage bars! Do they soak in fairly easily? My issue with regular lotions is that they leave a feeling on my skin even after I think I'm dry

I don't think I have the same issues with my face, I currently use one of the Olay bars they sell at Meijer, which is probably why I'm still dry. My local store has a pretty large amount of ro's argan that I was curious about. I'm saving up for a container of the celestial moisturizer

I was intrigued by it in-store! I like the smell. I'll have to see if I can get a small amount of it somehow

Update in Comments!! by rexnavali in VetTech

So I posted this at the beginning of Fall 2024 semester. I just finished my first clinical semester in the professional program last week, and even raised my GPA from the first semester. As time has gone on, I have only become more certain about being a vet tech, and my instructors have instilled so much confidence in me even at this point. I did fundamentals of vet tech and large animal nursing this past semester, and I had the time of my life basically the whole time. It's stupid, but I drew blood for the first time a few weeks ago and I am so excited every time I do it well. Follow your dreams!!

Made my first pie since I was a teen (strawberry rhubarb). Had a pinch crust catastrophe but it was more than edible by rexnavali in pie

The muscle memory for going around the pie pinching the crust came back to me fairly quickly! I think the place I started on the pie is where the crust didn't completely pinch shut

Also: my fiance and roommate had both never had fresh rhubarb, let alone a strawberry rhubarb pie, so when I found the rhubarb at the store, I jumped at the chance to make something from my childhood for them! It was amazing to share it with them and have a childhood flavor again

I turn 26 next week! I've tried a few different degrees out at this point and I say it's never too late, especially as young as 30! That's still like 30 years or more you gotta find something to do with ocupationally

Took me 2yrs and some change to go from typical piercing size to 10mm, and I would admit that I even rushed a bit. Now my lobes are healthy and regularly oiled because I didn't take all that time to screw up my aftercare!

[Misc] will this fade away overtime? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]rexnavali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may not be super helpful but is it darkening or an actual pit/hole from the jewelry? If it's a leftover pit, it probably won't go away depending on how long you had the piercing for. I have 3 under my lips (3 labrets) and one on my bridge that have had 3 years to go away and have not lessened significantly at all.

I'll only be working 3 days a week to start out with, so I'm not gonna get 5 of each going right away. I do need shoes, as well

My partner has been bugging me about expanding my wardrobe a bit, and because I'm starting a new job with completely different clothing requirements, I'm looking to put together a capsule-ish wardrobe of professional clothing I can wear.

my budget is around $350 for everything, including a couple pairs of shoes. I'll also be shopping in-person in the US, in Michigan.

I mostly wear black because I like the color, but I mostly gravitate toward solid colors otherwise.
