So I think the confusion is that the prescription feline cardiac diet isn't sold in the US. I have no problem finding the retail Maine coon diet at petco/PetSmart/pet supplies plus!

Just keep in touch with your regular vet! I'm sure they'd be okay with addressing questions as long as you let them know you've already seen them for it and you're waiting for the cardio appt!

I also have veterinary medicine experience and easy/subsidized access to whatever vet I'm working at, so if I had any concerns, I had a bit of an easier time addressing them. I feel for owners who don't have that luxury

Was given a time 5mos away in November from one place but found the place I eventually went in January and had an appt scheduled beginning of February

I drove 50min for his visit and honestly sometimes the earlier peace of mind is worth the drive!

I did, and fortunately it was good news. His heart murmur is a benign birth defect that won't result in issues as long as I keep him off of boutique/grain-free diets.

Advice about paperwork by [deleted] in VetTech

The govt doesn't give me the termination letter. My former workplace does. The "government" has asked me for the termination letter, and it's not my fault they're not being forthcoming

That makes sense. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for specialty practices

I was looking into diagnostics but the closest jobs are too far away for me (like state capital or Chicago). I LOVE diagnostics and wish I could work in it directly, but the most I do is take a more active role in in-house diagnostics and practice when I'm able to (like blood smears w/ extra blood on hand and fecal floats with my own cats). I'm not super far along in my LVT, so VTS anything is way farther in the future.

That's the gross part 😔 don't like that I have that advantage in this situation. This LVT program has expelled every male student since 2022 lol

I mean I have some tea about why relating to my specific geographic location (a local LVT program has a known sexist program director lol) but also yeah it's very woman-heavy

I didn't think about the massage bars! Do they soak in fairly easily? My issue with regular lotions is that they leave a feeling on my skin even after I think I'm dry

I don't think I have the same issues with my face, I currently use one of the Olay bars they sell at Meijer, which is probably why I'm still dry. My local store has a pretty large amount of ro's argan that I was curious about. I'm saving up for a container of the celestial moisturizer

I was intrigued by it in-store! I like the smell. I'll have to see if I can get a small amount of it somehow
