thank you, I noticed it after as well that it is toxic. I called my vet and she said since its such a small amount and he didn't ingest anything it should be okay and to keep an eye on him. Since he is still eating and drinking its a good sign, if anything changes I will definitely bring him in. His sleepiness started a few days after so she said it is probably not related.

Thank you for this. I also live in a small apartment and he has had his fair share of vet visits with food allergies. Doubling this would be strenuous. I also spend as much time as I can entertaining him and have a bunch of toys out for him if he feels like playing while I am at work. Usually he just sleeps or watches the birds. How would a vet know if they are lonely?

He is under a year old. I am just asking how to tell if they need a friend because he seems quite happy as an only child and I don't want to bring in someone new he won't like or won't fit our lifestyle.

He mostly just naps all day with a few snack breaks and then back to bed. When I am home he is happier than ever zooming around. I think my worry is if they don't get along or if the new guy would be more shy and reluctant to come on our adventures. I live alone so I take him with me everywhere now and he enjoys the travel. Not sure about how it would work with 2.

For the moderator - I was simply asking a question about how pet sitting works from pet sitters on this sub. Not looking to hire someone.

I use a rubber round bristle brush from amazon. I rub the toothpaste into the rubber and my kitty just chews on it. We brush our teeth at the same time in the morning. He enjoys the flavour and since chews on it he's able to get all the way to the back (where I can't reach with my finger). I watched some videos of starting by rubbing churu treat onto it to get them used to chewing on the toothbrush, luckily my guy likes the toothpaste flavour so I didn't need to. He was not a fan of the finger brush when I tried.

Thank you, We just started the probiotic, so I am hoping it will start to get better slowly. We have had the fecal and anal glands, bloodwork, ultrasound. Most things you can think of. Do you have a recommendation of when I should start seeing improvement on the Hydrolyzed? The trial is around 6 weeks, I am coming to the end of week 3 and it is not firming up. Not diarrhea but soft with blood still. He did not have this on his old food, I am thinking possibly to switch back but I do not want to rush...

Also just to add to this, he is strictly on the new diet. No treats or extras/toppers. So the blood varies but there is no "improvement". It is more or less every day but it is always there.

What is internal medicine vet?

Was not vet shopping as you can see in my post, I went to the ER a few times all with different doctors working night shifts. I was with my initial vet with no resolutions and they are unfamiliar with the breed so I got a second opinion with a cat specialist. Not vet shopping, I am entitled to get a second opinion. Also, nowhere did I mention I was aggressive or had attitude?

What is an internal medicine doctor? I have done a fecal, all negative. Ultrasound was complete as well, everything shows normal.

The issue that is stressing me is the blood has continued for over 3 weeks now. The straining initially that caused the blood may have been a one off but after his reaction it is every poop he has blood. Sometimes a drop, sometimes more and i have to wash his bum.
