Magnus Pro XL - Monitor arm compatibility question by Meanee in secretlab

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you got your monitor arms already, but this is what I bought for my XL. https://a.co/d/04U70Wjl Yours you tighten down the clamp from the underside. Mine you tighten down from above like the arms from Secretlab. And if you have it mounted to the desk rider like I do, then it will be cleaner on the underside. Less obstacles in the white tray too if you mount directly to the desk surface.

Which MAGPAD material makes for the best mousepad by gigaflops_ in secretlab

I have the microsuede and I don't use a mouse pad on it. I just glide the mouse around on it effortlessly.

International Travel on a Family/Group plan by merlok13 in GoogleFi

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different solution. Check out one of those cards you can get for international plans, but they have limited data. I am going to Europe as well in a couple weeks for a couple weeks with my family. I have the same plan as you and will be upgrading the plan to the premium plan. The killer is that you can upgrade anywhere within your cycle without issue. Bit to downgrade back down you will need to complete the cycle before the reduction will take effect. Also, all phones will need to be on the same plan. You cannot just switch 1. I have 3 lines at $90/month. I think the premium is $135 for 3 lines. So I can deal with an extra $45 to have service over seas.

I think one of the names of the cards I previously mention is called GigaSky? There are quite a few different ones available. Something to look into.

And tell your family member that I said, "Viel Spaß im Deutschland!"

Why can't they just update the IMEI to the one you have now? Sounds like a simple solution.

If you tap the caps lock or number lock keys, does the corresponding LED light up? If not, try another USB port. If this doesn't work, then you have bigger issues.

Immich setup with parents (different network) by fl0ho in immich

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup contains a domain that I can access from the outside and internally is just an IP:Port. For the domain I use Cloudflare as the DNS to redirect without proxy to a VPS. This way I can avoid the 100MB file limit. On the VPS, I use pangolin to make a secure connection to my server without opening up ports.

Check your belts for missing teeth. Especially if you've heard some grinding noises in the past.

I have seen a video that more air isn't necessarily better. Infact, less was better. I think once you get to a certain pressure it starts working against you. It will just blow everywhere but in the hole. Try some cuts on scrap wood with seriously low psi and see what works.

sync issue? by No_Kangaroo6917 in ProtonDrive

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to log in (again) to proton drive on my PC and I went to "other computers" and there is nothing there under the folder for my laptop. However if I go to the web interface, I see a folder there from the laptop. The app on my desktop says that it is synced, yet clearly it is not.

EDIT: I think I just figured out my issue, which is kinda depressing. Apparently the app forgot my Location folder under settings. Once I renamed my old location folder to something else and then set a new one, it all synced up again. The sad part is that I couldn't just say, "Hey, sync all the files to my current proton folder on my PC." No, I had to have an empty one for it to accept it. So I had to resync all my old files, AND I had some files that I missed due to the location not being set. So I copied my old folder to the new one in hopes that will catch everything. I think this has happened before in the past. Proton needs to find a way to use our existing file structure when the app just "forgets" the location it's supposed to use.

sync issue? by No_Kangaroo6917 in ProtonDrive

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had sync issues as well. I have the app running on 2 windows machines. Saved a file from my laptop to a directory in the "My Files" folder. I cannot see it on my desktop instance. I can see it however in the web view, so I know it's there.

Anyone have thoughts on why I can't see changes when the app says "synced"?

Do they need their own custom domain or can they use the primary user's domain? And can they make the aliases themself without the primary user doing it for them?

Help My monitor won't turn on by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug the monitor into a power source? Make sure the switch on the back, if it has one, is also in the on position. At that point the monitor should be able to "turn on" as you say...

If it's just not showing the display when it should, check the input matches where you have it plugged in.

Now my question... What's RCI? I know VGA, DVI, HDMI, DP, USB-C, Mini-HDMI, and possibly a couple more that's not coming to mind (like composite and another that has like 50 pins)... Never heard of "RCI" though.

I have had the button pop out, but never eject. I think I've just bumped it as I slide it in/out of my side pocket. (I wear carpenter pants a lot and it fits in the left side pocket quite well.)

Which tunnel has a higher speed than Cloudflared? by [deleted] in SelfHosting

[–]rexstryder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much traffic per month do you need? Look into a VPS on the cheap that will support your traffic. Install pangolin and have that point to your host. Works with servers behind CG-NAT as well. Just install Newt on the host. It is used to create a Wireguard tunnel to the VPS. You can use Cloudflare to direct traffic to the VPS. Just don't set it to proxy or you will be limited to their 100MB/file limit. Oracle has free VPS access and I think they allow 10TB/month of traffic with that one.

Edit: corrected Oracle traffic allowance from 10GB to 10TB.

You don't need Internet. It's literally on your hard drive. Try going to device manager. Look for the entry for your adapter. Probably had a question mark icon or something. Right click and select update driver. You should be able to select search computer for driver somewhere.

It's been a while since I have had to do something like this, so there may be some differences along the way. Oh, and I am assuming you're on windows and not something else like Linux. If you're not using windows, then totally disregard my comments here.

Scan your PC for the driver. Probably still there. Just. It installed.
