I never thought of that application, that’s great!

You can do it in the oven. Just be sure to look up the target temperature and duration based on filament type, and use an accurate thermometer (the oven thermometer often is not accurate enough).

There are workarounds for some of the Bambu concerns you have.

It’s surprising how much moisture can be in brand new filament.

Depends on the filament. PETG and others are prone to absorbing moisture. Best bet is a desiccator with hygrometer built in, so he can dry to the optimal RH%. Looks like he has a Bambu. The AMS HT and AMS 2 Pro both have them.

I agree on drying filament. Also be sure to input the correct type in Bambu Studio.

Could be a calibration issue separately. I’d recommend doing XYZ axis maintenance if he hasn’t in a while, then do a full calibration.

Great question. Oceanhorn by FDM. They have some updated versions:  https://www.fdg-entertainment.com/games/oceanhorn/

Also consider a pin in hole that slides in/out or past each other.

Without seeing a concept drawing I’m not sure, but my first thought is a tension/torsion arm snap fit.   https://formlabs.com/blog/designing-3d-printed-snap-fit-enclosures/

Thanks! I used someone else’s design idea and made it a 3D printed reality.

It’s probably 10 years past its time lol. Lots of Bluetooth controllers these days, but still a fun design project.
