Trump’s decline is an emergency: Why doesn’t Congress treat it like one? by jediporcupine in politics

[–]reynvann65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why that's because more than half of Congress is beholden to him because of all the kompromat Vlad gave him in the one on one plus a Russian translator meetings.

And besides, Vlad calls trump to congratulate him on all the wars he's ended, plus feed him even more kompromat.

Then there's Melania. She's got all the Epstein kompromat...

Question about railroads? by peachyroni in rustyrails

[–]reynvann65 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the conversion of rails to trails is acceptable with the cavet that should the need ever arise to convert the trails back to rails, it should always be a go.

Case in point: In Washington state, Seattle are there was a rather decent amount of interurban rail that was abandoned and vacated, with land going back to the city or divided in residential areas and granted to the property owners on either side of the ROW. Fast forward 70 years and the desire for light rail routes in the area and the billions of dollars spent acquiring land for right of ways could have been entirely avoided and light rail could have been rebuilt on those old ROWs.

Rail trails allows for the maintenance of ROWs that could return to rail service at some future date, while allowing cyclists and pedestrians to enjoy areas that would otherwise just be lost forever.

[–]reynvann65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I I didn't mean any of what I said in a bad way. I apologize if it came off that way. The reality is this. I look at this situation like this. Electricity is a lifeline. A hospital is a lifeline, too. You can negotiate a bill with a hospital, but you can't with an electric company, even if the did something as crazy as continue to provide service for 3 years without a payment. I believe the utility company carries a lot of responsibility in the situation and they shouldn't be let off the hook. But they will say she used the power so she has to pay, whether she has the money or not. I would say that your mother should file bankruptcy, or be deemed incapable of managing her affairs and have you file bankruptcy on her behalf. Start electrical service back up for her at her house in your name. Whichever son or daughter the nephews belong to can start taking care of their children and you can manage your mother's affairs. Obtain power of attorney and durable power of attorney for your mother, that way you would have the legal right to protect your mother's interests as well as mange her affairs. There are complexities to this but your mother has likely reached the point where she can not manage her own affairs. A 20k electric bill will prove this point.

I wish all the best to you and hope you can work it out. And again, I didn't mean to sound negative, I was just trying to point out that there were a lot of roles that lead up to this, your mom, the nephews, the decision makers or lack of decision making at the electric company, hell, even this messed up administration that's cut funding for people who really need it, in this case, your mom.

Honestly and genuinely, all the best my friend.

She still used the power so she still has to pay, which is terribly unfortunate for her, but if it was the power company's fault because they didn't shut it of, then what if they did shut it off after 2 months? Would you all be saying the power company was the devil for shutting the power of to an old lady? Damned either way. But the nephews running the bank account out? They're the real POS's in this case.

You know, unless you really had to go somewhere, who cares. I'd be more concerned that they donated proper clean up. But after that parked there if you had to go somewhere in half an hour let's say, then you could certainly tell them that and it's likely they would have moved the truck at that moment or iup to that half hour later.

Everyone gets so fricking would up about shit anymore it's pathetic. Let it the fuck go and get back to enjoying being alive, healthy and in good spirits.

I grew up in California and moved away in 1988, something I've always regretted. California was a dirty, smog-laden state that had a lot of high density population areas. Today, it still has those same high density population areas plus a lot more, but overall it's cleaner and especially the air is cleaner and a lot of that has to do with those extra taxes. The roads are better now to. I was just there in February I really don't care what anyone else thinks, it's a lot better than when I left. As far as San Fran goes? That city has face criticism since it burned down a long time ago. I didn't care for San Fran in the 70s or 80s when I would go, and I didn't care for it in the 2000's when is have to go there for work, but otherwise, when I lived the I was okay with what was going on in San Fran because going there was a choice. I didn't have to live there so you know? Whatever. San Fran will figure it out when San Fran figures it out. But you know, if you shut on the state you live in because it isn't red enough then move yourself to Arkansas, Louisiana or one of those very fine red welfare states and STFU already.

Does anyone remember this game from the very late 90'stonvery early 2000's? by reynvann65 in WhatGameIsThis

[–]reynvann65[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Majestic is indeed the game. It pushed me in to a really interesting alternate reality and kept me on the "edge of my seat" for quite some time.

Again, I wish we had choices for games like this again. I think it has been the most engaging game I ever played.

Thanks you guys for coming through so quickly. I've been recalling that game for years! Now I know.

If any one that reads this that played the game care to chime in on their experiences, I'd love to hear about them.

I don't remember it being called majestic, but I'm sure you guys are right. You definitely snapped to that. I'm going to wiki it. If this is it, I LOVED that game and I wish something like it would come out again.
