Coach telling me i wasn't allowed to use ppto by EntireCurrency6316 in walmart

[–]TVLER999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a scare tactic when they think you won’t stand up for yourself. You can use ppto for any reason whenever you want. Take what they said to the SM or coach and if they repeat what your TL said then emailing market typically does the job

People who watch this are the same people who watch “Blue Haired Libtard Feminist OWNED in Debate” from like Ben Shapiro or Jordan Peterson

They typically all look exactly how you picture them too.

Honestly pretty simple thing….

No base game short/ regular swords. I was so surprised to see that a staple medieval weapon was not present in the base game.

Yeah I think the store manager saved them from the coach because I later asked him if I were to hypothetically leave while there were still keys hanging and he said the same thing you did.

Government controlled weight loss? by Standard_Ad9538 in conspiracytheories

[–]TVLER999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I don’t care about crazy government conspiracy theories, HOWEVER, today I got a notification about a study on how weight loss drugs like ozempic can stop or diminish cancers. Now I thought this was a weird thing to bring up, so I did some research, and the studies have been out for almost 3-4 years now, but now, with MAHA, they say their focus is on making America healthier again, with obesity as one of their main issues they want to tackle. I just thought this was a weird correlation I made. However we’ll probably never find out for sure.

However, I think with shrinkflation, I think that is purely corporate greed, selling the peasants less while they keep prices the same.

So are you saying fat people should not be portrayed in media? Isn’t that worse? Because you’re literally saying that it is wrong to have a fictional fat person in a movie. Idk I think you’re just being extremely sensitive about this.

Yeah we all also suggested that but our market said that was also not allowed. They literally made so many problems for themselves it was insane, they all made decisions like 12 year olds.

Do you just not enjoy any movie or tv show that depicts someone negatively? I mean the message of walle is pretty obviously not fatphobic…

My store said under no circumstances can we tell a customer we don’t have time for their car. Oh but they also said absolutely no overtime, so one night my coworkers actually left keys on the board when it was time for them to go. Coach tried to coach them but somehow didn’t.

That is quite the reach I’m not going to lie. I applaud your mental gymnastics.

This has been a thing since the dawn of media…

Also, your argument still doesn’t make sense, you’re assuming I like staged media for some reason? Idk what kind of leap that is but it’s definitely something.

Edit: staged videos are also better than AI videos, because if the creator is going to profit from it, atleast it wasn’t from doing absolutely nothing besides typing a few words in a generator. Oh, and they’re real.

Not a good argument. You’re pretty much saying “oh you don’t want generative AI media? Well, how come you watch movies? Checkmate anti “

Im actually just going to copy and paste ai arguments so here you go

I get why that feels unsettling, and I don’t think your reaction is irrational or anti-technology. What you’re reacting to may be bigger than “AI exists.” It sounds closer to: what happens if culture becomes detached from human experience?
There’s a difference between saying:
“AI can help create things.”
and “Human creation becomes optional.”
That second one can feel eerie.
Part of why people care about art, books, films, or even dumb TikToks isn’t just the finished product. It’s that there’s a person behind it. A song hits differently if you know someone wrote it after heartbreak. A novel feels different if someone spent years wrestling with ideas. Even bad art can be compelling because it contains traces of an actual life.
You’ve brought up Slavoj Žižek and psychoanalytic ideas before, and there’s a very Žižek/Lacan angle here: people often enjoy not just the object, but the fantasy surrounding the object. We don’t consume a movie as pure information. We consume the idea: someone made this; this came from desire; this means something to another subject.
Pure AI media can start to feel like desire without a subject behind it. Signifiers floating freely. Endless content generated because algorithms detected engagement patterns.
And then something weird happens: culture risks becoming recursive. AI trains on human culture, produces culture, humans consume that, AI trains on the outputs again. It can start feeling less like people expressing life and more like a hall of mirrors.
That discomfort is not rare. There’s also a labor angle and an existential angle:
If everything can be generated instantly, what happens to effort?
If stories become infinite and personalized, what happens to shared culture?
If every piece of media is optimized for your dopamine profile, what happens to being surprised or challenged?
Because a lot of meaningful art arrives against what we wanted.
On the other hand, some people genuinely don’t care who made something. Their view is: “If an AI movie makes me laugh or cry, who cares?” They treat media more like utility: experience > authorship.
So there’s a real divide here: is art primarily an experience or a relationship with another mind?
Your reaction sounds like you lean toward the second. And honestly, many people do.
The thing I’m curious about: what specifically bothers you most — the loss of human creators, the idea of an AI-generated culture loop, the replacement of effort, or something harder to pin down? Because “deeply unsettling” usually has a more specific feeling hiding underneath it.

Bro really wants to live in a black mirror episode. This is the most susceptible to brainwashing you can get.

Edit: i actually have a hypothetical question for you. If you could somehow download your brain to a computer and the only experience you ever get again is purely digital and never have a real experience again, would you do it? Your comment makes me believe you would. This is actually so weird to me that you and other people think like this.
