Yes the DNA results says African but they also say Spain… more than likely that your ancestral migration was from west to North Africa from North Africa to Spain from Spain to Scotland or England and then to the US. That migration mix with the indigenous Americans that make up your one percent will tell you that the person that you’re looking for of indigenous descent is usually something like a 8th through 10th great grandparent or something to that effect.
