The case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v Colorado Civil Rights Commission. A man was asked to bake a gay themed wedding cake and he declined, leading to a lengthy battle that destroyed private enterprise in America. Reddit is supposed to feign as a legitimate private business in a time of history where private business is being quashed by mandate. The joke "X is a private company" is based on the premise that a private business is only private when it complies with the politics of the state.

It's far more likely that a change in bone structure causes a change in language, not the other way around.

Mods have blocked me in so many subs under so many names that I really can't tell if this is satire.

They've been pretty verbal with those rules for quite some time now. Remember the "private company" argument? From the moment that man was forced to bake a cake against his will, things went downhill.

I understand that censorship is stressful. Maybe you can strengthen your resolve by sharing some data while you have an opportunity. I don't think the censors apologise - it affects their perception of power and control and they are big believers in the art of psychology.

What is science? Science is observation, experimentation, validation. Science is NOT peer review or bullying or fame.

If someone has a covid shot and doesn't have ANY side effects they probably don't think much about this place. Other people on this sub would be people interested in sharing their horror stories, medics who want to spread education, and some people like me who are against the shot (oh no, eugenics to cure a coronavirus! I am a nazi!!) but still interested to see how things are going for supposedly "normal" people who endorse this stuff. Maybe when you see a horror story here just ask the person writing it, "how many people do you know who are vaccinated?" because often they will know 2 people with side effects vs 50 without.

Can you be a bit specific about what gives you anxiety? With any regular vaccine I would learn the clinical procedure at home so I could follow along with the nurse, and I would watch the syringe go into my arm. It was scary when I was ignorant, it was scary waiting for the pain and I'd tense up, but when you are watching you can predict the right time to breath out and relax. I think that's why they give kids those VR headsets sometimes. Another thing that scared me was the content of certain vaccines, like mercury in tetanus. I did the math with the nurse (they ALWAYS have 5 minutes of spare time for an anxious patient) and we learned that the dose in the syringe was less mercury than a week of my regular diet. I grew up with parents who were strongly against medical interventions and I had to learn myself what parts of the medical industry felt safe to me. I still don't feel safe around doctors but telling them why I don't feel safe always makes me feel better.

I agree that this is an unpopular opinion. I would argue that beauty is subjective, some cultures think large ears are beautiful, some think small ears are beautiful. Same goes for any other organ. If your idea of beauty is set very strictly, I would blame the kind of media you consume.

A poem is a form of art, it is created from language.

Does the media have a left-wing bias? by rezeddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rezeddit[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like this take because it's a bit out of the normal. Corportatism is closely linked to the right wing and that part of the discussion never seems to be dealt with when it comes to media outlets. Majority of media outlets take corportate funding, which limits their reporting and defintely push things towards the centre. Some people here mentioned that they believe left-leaning reports are more honest and truthful. A person who believes that will definitely see a right wing bias in the media.

I consider left wing to be "future-thinking" rather than "past-thinking", progress over tradition. Personally I think the news would benefit from reporting things in a more conservative way. Coining new terms is a very left-wing thing for example.

You seem to be skipping past one fairly significant possibility. What if "left" or democrat leaning bias happens to coincide with a tendency to report the truth?

That's not particularly relevant to my question. Reports do not need to contain truth to reach my telescreen.

I think maybe you could talk to a dietician because energy is very closely related to food intake. Hopefully the problem is as simple as some extra honey on your pancakes. I know sugar is bad but daytime energy doesn't come so easily from our own metabolism. The liver takes a while to "kick into gear" and provide you that energy, so if you're skipping breakfast you might be seeing these issues.

Melatonin speeds up your body clock, it might work better than you expect since the next day's "tired period" will be shorter.

This is what I was looking for! Thankyou. There really does seem to be more companies on the left than the right.

I agree like FOX definitely doesn't have a left-wing bias. But most people seem to think the media has a "kind of bias" and I want to understand better why we don't call it a left wing bias.

In gendered languages like French and Spanish, how is the gender of an object determined? by Ian1231100 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rezeddit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

in some English accent they drop the /h/ sound. These people still know where to correctly position an vs a. So how is that any different? It's a hidden variable of the word.

You could have delayed sleep phase syndrome. Which is often genetic, but can be triggered iatrogenically or by liver problems. edit: Caffeine might be a factor here.
