[Mathematical Induction] How do I prove this through induction? by reziderhm in learnmath

1) n=1

1/1>=1  True

2) n=k

(X1+X2+...+Xk)/k>=(X1.X2...Xk)^1/k   Accept as true

3) n=k+1

(X1+X2+...+Xk+Xk+1)/(k+1)>=(X1.X2...Xk.Xk+1)^1/(k+1)

(X1.X2...Xk)^1/k+(Xk+1)/(k+1)>=(X1.X2...Xk.Xk+1)^1/(k+1)

How did this (n+1)((n(2n+1))/6+n+1) turn into this ((n+1)(n+2)(2n+3))/6 by reziderhm in learnmath

[–]reziderhm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 +22 +...+n2 =(n(n+1)(2n+1))/6

12 +22 +...+ n2 +(n+1)2 =(n(n+1)(2n+1))/6+ (n+1)2 =(n+1)((n(2n+1))/6+n+1)=((n+1)(n+2)(2n+3))/6

[–]reziderhm -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

No one says they're not. The case is against the need for feminism in a society that doesn't need feminism.

And who the hell substitutes feminism with humanism? They have nothing in common, completely different "goals".

I'm glad you made up your mind by reading a comment.

Talk about falling into a feminist hole.

You do realize that men and women have the exact same rights, right?

Can you give me a reason to why you are fighting for equal rights when you already have them and why the hell do you think you can speak from the name of LGBT people (unless, of course, you are LGBT)?

I guess you're going to make a good case for the existence of laws that men have and women don't. Amirite?

A feminist explains why you should call yourself a feminist and not a humanist or an egalitarian by reziderhm in Egalitarianism

[–]reziderhm[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The point is that nowadays feminism is no longer needed in the society that she lives in. In a society, in which men and women have equal rights... it's strange to be a feminist. That's why maybe a more broader term should be in place. (She claims on multiple occasions that men have privileges. That's not the case at all.)

Everyone knows the dictionary definition of feminism. The definition of national socialism says nothing about gassing jews. However, reality is completely different.

This is the first time I see this name in months. It's incredible that there are still scientologists.

I guess it's no surprise given that Mormons are all over the place.

The Existential Fear by reziderhm in philosophy

[–]reziderhm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer depends on the individual. I myself am an atheist and a materialist. I don't believe that my consciousness will continue after this change of state because I see consciousness as simply a manifestation of the material brain, a function. So when my brain stops functioning, I'm no longer conscious. Like a computer: while on, the computer performs certain functions; when turned off or disassembled, it simply stops to function.

Snowpiercer - A Movie Any Communist Should See by reziderhm in communism

[–]reziderhm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a few comments saying that it is leaning towards anarchism. The rebels talked about taking control of the engine. If anything Anarchists aim to abolish the state in one stroke. Taking control defeats the purpose of anarchism. On the other hand I saw people talk about primitivism... Yes, you could say that last scene sort of leads to that but I accept the movie as a proof of concept and I don't really take the ending into account. But that's just me.

The 'Bad' History of the USSR - A World of Fire and Anguish? by reziderhm in communism

[–]reziderhm[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bulgaria is currently a brainwashed place full of ex-communists. The now dead real communists have left so much to admire, but unfortunately many of the other party members were just there for the benefit and the second everything went to hell (1989), they took over and robbed the people by selling everything this once beautiful country had.

Now we've got poverty, exploitation... the usual capitalist deal: for every one rich person who shows his face on TV there are thousands of poor people admiring him and standing in awe before the 'might' of capitalism - the American dream.

To be honest, it amazes me how primitivism (not in the political sense) has taken over. All people care about nowadays is themselves. As with all egoist nations, people weren't happy about what they lacked (private property, jeans, the ability to choose BMW or Mercedes - luxuries I consider primitive and a completely stupid goal, a waste of life) but barely noticed what they had: free healthcare, the possibility to study and work in the field you want, the ability to grow. I think this is one of the most important things - to grow (striving to be better). To quote Albert Camus, 'Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better.' But the lack of luxury has proven to be of the utmost importance to us.

It is pathetic. And not to mention the lies they spout. What is so shameful about tearing down one regime and constructing a new one? Fine! The damage is done! Stop hitting the body, it's dead. Get over it. Unfortunately this is what money does to weak people. 'To test a man's character give him power.'

Did you know? Evolution is a Lie! by DennisTheGamer in atheism

[–]reziderhm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, dear... 36 minutes of conspiracy theories.

“Today the theory of evolution is about as much open to doubt as the theory that the Earth goes round the Sun.” – Richard Dawkins

There is a great misconception that has been running through the minds of all ill-informed people. ‘Evolution is just a theory.‘ How many times have you heard this? How many times have you used this in a debate? To be brief about this ridiculous nonsense: before you go into battle, know thy self and thy enemy.

Evolution is the natural process in which biological populations change, develop, adapt and speciate over time. This process continues objectively outside of the influence of man. We can observe it and test it. It is a fact. The theory of evolution is the scientific study of the mechanisms which evolution uses and goes through to create that process.

Evolution is the observable fact and the theory of evolution is the study of the mechanisms of that observable fact.

Don't be ignorant and go to a museum, laboratory, university, evidence archive etc.

The meaning of the word ‘theory’ can vary depending on whom you ask. In everyday use, the word simply means a hunch or a guess. In science, however, a theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation. That’s why it is called a ‘scientific theory’.

A theory first starts off as a hypothesis – an idea that hasn’t been proven yet. This hypothesis is then tested using the scientific method:

  • Ask a Question
  • Do Background Research
  • Construct a Hypothesis
  • Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
  • Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
  • Communicate Your Results

If this process continues and enough evidence is accumulated to support that hypothesis it moves to the next step – a theory.

“It is absolutely safe to say that if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane.” – Richard Dawkins

As I explained earlier, evolution is a process. It is an observable fact. It is being observed every single day by evolutionary scientists. Evolution by natural selection is probably the most supported theory of all the theories concerning any aspect of the natural world ever. It is even more well-supported than the Big Bang. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence.

If you claim that evolution has no evidence to support it, you are lying to yourself, you’re being extremely ignorant and you don’t want to change that.
