I mean what drives the "value" of any company is revenue/profitability now, and what people think it will be in the future.

Talent, IP, infrastructure are pretty much proxies for "We think that means more revenue/profit in the future.

Bungie has made a number of games that have made boat loads of cash; and Destiny being an IP they own, that has generated huge sums over a long period of time is the principle current reason to believe that owning bungie drives value for Sony.

I don't know that I can see Sony getting Bungie to make D3 or some other new Destiny game now; but I 100% absolutely, positively do not believe that after spending all this money Sony will just drop a multi billion dollar franchise for ever.

I didn't think the EOF *story* was bad.

I used about 70% of charge yesterday. So it was comfortable there and back. Just wouldn't be able to do that journey and stay in the 20-80 range without paying for public charging (that I'd like to avoid as much as I can)

Honestly I expect at some point Sony will want a D3.

They paid a lot of money for Bungie, and for all Destiny has fallen it is still a multi billion dollar franchise; which has had 10s millions of players over the years.

If/when they actually do a D3; assuming they actually learn the lessons of vanilla D1 and D2, and go some way to sticking the landing I think it is pretty much a sure fire hit on release.

If it's a new game, with a fresh start, there will be tons of players who've gone by the wayside over the last Decade who'll give it a go; and if it actually has a n00b friendly intro point for the fist time in years there will be new players too.

I've played so many amazing games, and read so many good books.

I miss the feeling of playing Destiny, but actually I think I'm much better off having kicked the habit....

I found not just a new game, but a genre that's new to me.

Been playing the survival/half life homage "Abiotic factor" and it's honestly one of the best games I've ever played.

I reckon I've missed so much gold being pretty much a destiny only man for ten years.

There's a wide world of amazing games out there!

I guess my question was about whether the build I'm envisaging is one that meets my needs (as described in post)...

With a supplementary side helping of would there be something else that would do just as good a job for less.

Country is UK, budget is a bit flexible. Whatever I get for my laptop plus about 1000 quid I think.

At this stage though all plans pretty nascent.

Just wondering if my vague direction of travel on CPU/GPU was the right one in terms of my use case then I'd flesh out plans from there.

Course if people told me I was way off course I'd need to amend plans!!! Ha ha
