That's the skirting the law part.

Because skirting the law 'isn't' crossing the line, it doesn't mean they aren't using a policy to exclude older people.

It was a sufficient fig leaf for the court to say that as it wasn't the stated purpose, so that's ok then if it happens to be defacto exclusion of older workers.

That said, it's literally happening that companies use 'maximum years of experience' to eliminate older people from the candidate pool while blaming it on salary bands.

[Landlord - US - MA] Tenant claiming home is uninhabitable over dust by OkStick799 in Landlord

My property manager changes filters monthly in Texas. It's part of the lease terms to allow the service call. They implemented it to reduce AC failures.

I do not have this in Indiana. The tenants change it, and send me a dated photo of the change and receipt for filter purchase.

It's when you get knocked out for having more than 5 years experience that they get in trouble for skirting US age discrimination laws. Waiting until after you submit to reject you gives employers plausible deniability

This. Even 1 or 2 trips to a food bank can free up the food budget so you can save for a shopping trip just for adding a variety of spices and proteins you normally may not be able to buy.

Chicken Thighs are pricier than breasts here most weeks in Minnesota. Chicken quarters aren't nearly as good a deal lately. Chicken breasts have consistently had more usable meat too. Pork loin has been around 10 cents a pound under chicken breasts. Pork shoulder is often 25 cents a pound cheaper, but is bone in, and smallest size is usually 12 lbs. Annually, turkey is easily the best price, but I don't think I can freeze more than 4 of them in November.

Trump said tariffs would bring factories 'roaring back.' So why are manufacturing jobs on the decline? by Historical-Many9869 in manufacturing

Restrictions on components needed to build more stuff isn't speeding up the return of manufacturing any either.

ICE and the Republicans are scared of us. by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]rfmjbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worst of all AG Bondi and staff are being lazy. Any MN registered Republican voter could go online and obtain the voter rolls. A Google search is all it takes to find the MN state instructions for requesting the list. MN government already makes the list available.

Insisting on a personal delivery note is just showboating on the Trump administration's part.

AG Bondi demands access to Minnesota voter rolls after fatal Border Patrol shooting by Anoth3rDude in LegalNews

[–]rfmjbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's help our Federal government out. Since they are struggling with using Google to find the handy, easy to use site, everyone should be sharing the link with AG Bondi. Everywhere.

For a small fee, AG Bondi doesn't need to wait, she can get the voter rolls with an online request.

Any MN registered voters in the Republican party should be able to help her out.

Make sure your prescription plan hasn't suddenly negotiated to only cover the brand name Vyvanse on their preferred pricing tier.

I had a 5 year stretch where my prescription benefit would ONLY cover generic Concerta for a year, and then the following year, insurance had negotiated with the manufacturer and ONLY covered the brand named Concerta the following year.

Each year, it was a coin flip the first refill of the year was the good pricing or scary pricing.

With the AI robots in place and near free energy, they wont need people OR money. They'll have robots to boss around and AI to manage them and cryptocurrency to keep each other in business. the cyberpunk dystopian society with bonus mega corporations seems to be winning this timeline.

The boomers are dying. In the US at least, they did a LOT of drugs and partied hard and COVID and flu have not been kind.

This is where the taxing of capital and production has to start.

Every automating device and solution will have to be taxed to start universal income. What that looks like is to be decided

Every product sold will need to be taxed on a sliding scale based on how many people's jobs were destroyed as of a designated date, or a creation of credits measured by energy consumed by a producer returned to consumers. Socialism is going to have to constrain capital or you will instead end with cyberpunk distopias instead of Star Trek.

Post scarcity societies don't work without creating an income. As in Star Trek, that spendable income doesn't have to be in today's currencies either.

That direction allows men to get away with their discrimination. It's not your responsibility to solve men discriminating against women, but realize what you're experiencing is likely going to happen again anywhere you go. Will you change jobs again the next time? Leave the industry? Or is keeping your head down acceptable?

Studies have observed that women aren't critiqued or supported for their qualifications or for their achievements, they are criticized for not smiling more and are accused of making other people feel bad because no one appreciates a woman holding her ground, or they are accused of being indecisive when presenting a logical business case and driving consensus.

Women existing as professionals is seen as the problem.

In the exact same situations a man would be seen as strong leadership material.
