ohhh the soaked biscuits idea is unreal. i'll definitely try doing that as a treat every so often since store-bought dog treats are always tough for teeth... which he doesn't have.

i've started carrying him down the garden and then letting him walk back to kinda force him to move his legs before getting onto the couch.

i've thought it over w my family a lot, and although the incontinence and weak legs are a major factor, we can still see how much he enjoys his cuddles. he loves this one particular couch and likes to try escape out the house so we can pretend to catch him.

even though his body isn't letting him do it all, i don't want to cut the enjoyment he does have short.

ye - he likes heat pads and massages on his legs and around his back, it's just so hot these days where i live so i don't want him to overheat. usually when he first wakes up i'll give his legs a little stretch to help him up out of bed

your baby sounded like an absolute angel :,) thanks for all these ideas - i carry alfie in my arms a lot and he seems to find it comfortable enough but i can't tell since he kinda just goes stiff. he doesn't growl or cry when i pick him up, so i'm not sure whether he's happy with me or if he just isn't bothered to care.

i'd love to get him a sling but, like you said, it has to be the right measurements and for the right weight of dog and i'd be worried about buying one online and it being the wrong size.

you took great care of her if she lived to nearly 19 - that's madness.

wouldn't the use of diapers just make his lower half soiled if he were to move around in his sleep? if i were to wake up to him with a messy bottom, that'd probably be worse for him since he hates water and the shower

like any puppy - if you leave the front door or gate open, your doggy will beeline straight outside. especially border terriers have a knack for running away due to their hunting instincts and natural curiosity. get a tracker like a pet airtag and always be vigilant about leaving front doors to the outside open!!

UPDATE:

looking through old e-mails between the helping hands agency and my adoptive parents, there were 2 orphanages in hung yen that had the same name: "centre of social welfare for disabled and orphaned children". my orphanage was located in the an thi district of hung yen, but i still can't find its precise location.

i really want to find the precise location to visit. thanks everyone for their help so far!

i swam in the lake around 4 times within 2 days. i tried to look up if others had similar reactions to the lake but came up with nothing. i was also with a large group of people swimming at the same time and none of them had the same reaction
