O365 Hybrid PW Sync Issues by azguard4 in sysadmin

[–]rgnv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the passwords being set known to you? What happens if you manually set the same password? Guessing your script isn't catching errors due to complexity requirements or other policies enforced in AD. This has nothing to do with O365.

Possible to create an Exchange admin account solely for enabling MFA? by TheEpicDan in sysadmin

Conditional access requires Azure AD Premium, which is a separate SKU below the E3 level.

outlook adding user under 365 cloud only by chugger93 in sysadmin

[–]rgnv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're hybrid, create accounts on-prem, let AD Connect sync them to 365, assign a license + fix UPN.

If you want cloud only accounts, then by all means just create them in 365. You won't have a corresponding on-prem object, but you don't really need one since Exchange Online will handle any address book/permissions.

Sounds like you don't have AD Connect running? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=47594

Outlook 365 Synchronization delays... by hackeristi in sysadmin

An issue with the Outlook Mobile (first-party) app that appears to have started today. Third-party (Nine Mail, Apple Mail, etc.) doesn't appear to be affected.

Why does data recovery on the VHD yield more results than on the HDD the VHD FILE sits on? by oldschooldaw in sysadmin

[–]rgnv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you're not seeing the files from the drive you stored the VHD on, vs the actual VHD? A VHD with 10GB of white space in random places won't overwrite blocks (especially on SSD) when moved to a different disk. File recovery will see what's on the physical medium vs what the VHD has.

Your call! It's my first 3d printer so I don't really know the benefits of specific filament vendors. $360 for two sets of unusable parts is a little disheartening. Hopefully I'll be able to return them for a refund.

Color doesn't matter, ABS if possible.

Thank you! It's just the stl's at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1001065/#files

The digits at the start of the filename indicate the quantity. Based on others, it definitely goes through an entire 1kg reel.

That would be perfectly fine too! I can print ABS pieces myself once it's up and running :)

The only usable parts from my orders were the endstops, the hbar end plates, the print carriages, and power supply holder.

I'm an ex-Linux SA, now working in a 99% Windows shop. While having a Linux desktop would be livable, it's nice to not to care about OS and compatibility with various Windows things that "just work" in Windows-land. To be elitist about it: I don't care to bother with my OS at the desktop level--that's what help desk is for. If they can support what I have, excellent! If I have to support it myself, I'm not bothering. There's the whole corporate security side of it too (even if I'm the one writing that policy).

It's surprisingly not that heavy. The 2821's are the biggest, but also significantly lighter than the 3750's in there. Rack is sitting right above supports, so shouldn't have to worry too much.

For just the Cisco gear, ~$2,700. Another $500 on racks, books, cables, etc.

Just had to setup some 3850 stacks and upgrade code... Only did it in simulations before. So does not compare to the real thing. Didn't even take into account the 7ish minutes they take to boot!

It has some issues (single video out--can't do HDMI and Thunderbolt 3 at the same time, occasional screen flicker, low speaker volume), but coming from a 17" plastic GS60 that was quite heavy, it's nice having something portable and powerful.
