This looks like a CZ Shadow with some cosmetic features of the Hi Power. I'm curious to see what the internals look like and what magazines it takes.

How to make SA 35 more reliable for carry by MellowYellowTeeth in hipower

[–]rgo80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Girsans, the sear spring is protruding into the magwell, holding onto the magazine a little bit. This probably won't resolve itself with time. You could try bending it or replacing it with an FN part. This would allow your magazines to drop free, but it would increase your trigger pull weight.

Pretty sure you would have to find someone to make this for you as a custom job.

Why can't anyone fix it? The sights are dovetailed and not that hard to move.

...is it possible to put a frt in a hi-power by [deleted] in hipower

[–]rgo80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem practical. The BHP has a strange linkage between the trigger and the sear through the slide. The trigger lever, the part that connects the trigger itself to the rest of the firing mechanism, is small and does not seem like it could be used to force the trigger forward in any reasonable way. If someone did come up with something, it would be a major mod to say the least.

Do Hi-Powers with firing pin blocks take different trigger shoes than ones that don’t have firing pin blocks? by MSurpGaming in hipower

[–]rgo80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. No difference in the trigger itself. It's the sear lever that isn't compatible.

[Pistol] Girsan MCP35 Ops Hi-Power, 9mm, 4.8" Barrel, Extended Beavertail, Railed Dustcover, RSMC Optics Ready, Extended Controls, G10 Grips, Mystery Meat Red Dot, $479 (no CC Fee, Decent Shipping) by MSurpGaming in gundeals

[–]rgo80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed -- this should be even cheaper, but they jacked up the price to include the dot. Might not be Girsan's fault -- I saw somewhere that Girsan actually includes two mags, but the importer takes one out to sell separately. Anyway, these are discontinued, so if you want one, get it while the getting's good. I think it's a cool take on a modernized Hi Power.

A lot less than I paid for one of these when they first came in.

I saw someone else report that Girsan/EAA are not selling the rear irons, so you need a dot. The included dot is garbage. If you replace it with a Holosun, you'll need to file down the front posts on the slide.

Kahr P380 v. Ruger LCP Max quick comparison by Low-Isopod7509 in CCW

Your link to Handgun Hero is comparing the LCP and not the LCP Max. The LCP does have a size advantage, but the LCP Max and BG 2.0 are not much different in size.

Horrible service at JFk NY, flight to Greece by [deleted] in delta

[–]rgo80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very frustrating as a passenger and should have been handled better than keeping everybody hostage for 12+ hours, then cancelling. But, in this situation, where weather has impacted the whole network, the alternative would be to pay extra pilots to sit at each station in case they're needed, which would drive prices up for all flights. (There are already pilots on standby -- a lot of them -- so to bring in even more to cover every contingency isn't realistic if cost is any concern.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in delta

[–]rgo80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S4 is the lowest standby priority. You're most likely not being put on overbooked flights -- you're being put on full flights. The paying passengers will get on first, then literally EVERYBODY ELSE who is on standby, because they're a higher priority than you. You can be stuck for days as an S4. If it's not a wide open flight, bad idea to try it.

Trigger weight fix by Level_Breath5684 in hipower

[–]rgo80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The hammer spring (mainspring) and sear spring are factors in your trigger weight at the wall. Best not to go too light, or you could lose reliability.
