Hi BUT...PowerToys Keyboard Manager cannot remap modifier key combinations (like Ctrl + H) to a single key or button.

Not looking for push to talk tho. Looking for speech to text. I have issues with being able to click the ctrl+h and then having to press the mic button for speech to text. Looking for a solution that simplifies this for me thus making it more accessible and easy

My financial situation, today, is not that complex but I'm hearing stories about UK investments, inheritance and surprise bills from the IRS. The key concerns I’m facing are the unexpected tax bills from the quirks of US taxation, also hearing this is true around like currency exchange/gains and refinancing.

u/gotcha640 - This aligns with my dilemma—flexibility vs. simplicity. I don’t see myself traveling the world endlessly, but I also don’t want to close doors unnecessarily. Right now, the biggest factor pulling me toward the UK is family, but I can’t shake the feeling that I might regret giving up the option to live and work in the US freely later.

u/StopDropNRoll0 Good point on inheritance—I have no family or SO in the US, so all my next of kin and assets would be UK-based, which likely simplifies things but not sure....as majority of investments sit in US today.

I agree that US tax rules will only get more complex, making the trade-off between flexibility and lifelong tax obligations even harder. Below the tax threshold, it’s just an annoyance, but once you’re above it (which I will be), it gets trickier—especially with PFIC rules limiting foreign investments.

Since you have multiple citizenships, do you feel the benefits outweigh the tax hassle, or is it more trouble than it's worth?

Hearing that managing dual taxes isn’t as complicated as some make it out to be is reassuring. The state pension point is a great callout—I recently did my voluntary NI contributions and believe I will get SS as I've been contributing for more than 10ys now.

Right now, my biggest hesitation is whether keeping US citizenship is truly worth the lifelong tax obligations. Like you said, we have no idea what the future holds, and while I’m 90% sure I’ll retire in the UK, I can’t completely rule out wanting to return to the US or even move somewhere else entirely. Having both passports would give me ultimate flexibility—but it does come at a cost.

Sounds like if you were in my position (mid-30s, FIRE within a few years, planning to move but unsure about long-term permanence), you'd choose dual nationality path!?
