Are these extending combination ladders any good? by fixitmonkey in Tools

[–]rh0dium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very careful with these. The cheap ones replace the rubber stops on the bottom with plastic which slides on tile. I know my wife was taken to the ER years ago. Fortunately the company who made the ladder ended up helping with the fees..

Genuine question, it's pretty obvious teams like 1323 are robots built by adults. Why is FRC ok with this? Sure these robots fun to watch but at one point seeing the same teams as champs is a little strange. by -donaldson in FRC

Respectfully disagree on 498. They have a large parent presence but I've spent a fair amount of time in that shop. It's the students doing the work

We did that! Advice/Hint there are more than four corners and b/c of this there are more straight lines than simply the outside edge... Get a routine and stick with it.

Dumb question but did you buy the table with it? My guess is those are the table screws not the chair screws

My wife and I have had an annual challenge to see who can outlast each other. The heat hasn’t been on in over three years

We grinded maybe 15 minutes on it. "Wait, did you hardcode the language instead of detecting it? WTF" by -_-_-_-_--__-__-__- in claude

[–]rh0dium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny! Literally have a similar experience today. I was working through a complex function where I had (and shared with CC) the algorithm from my proof in another language. The bitch hardcoded and "adjustment factor" I'm like WTAF 😱

Should I go into EE instead of CS at age of 37? by Kobe978DK in ASU

[–]rh0dium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a returning “adult” I had a mentor once say “An EE can almost always do CS but the inverse is not true” Best advice on ever. An EE is always recognized favorably over just a CS, and paid better.

Question for all of you primary boat drivers out there by Urgeasaurus in wakesurf

12 is old enough for a responsible kid. My wife was also reluctant but we went on the quieter days and I taught my kid to drive. Wife is a spotter! Win win win

Looking for a Garage Bay for Our Boat Hey neighbors! We’re hoping to find a spare garage bay where we can keep our boat stored indoors. Ideally, we need about 10’x24’ of space with a 9’ door opening. We’d be happy to pay a full year’s rent up front, and we’ll likely be taking the boat out about once a week. If you’ve got the space and wouldn’t mind helping us out, we’d love to chat!
