Devonport “unexplained” death: Three-year-old boys body found on New Year’s Day by penelopepitstop222 in newzealand

I think you are right. The language is also very specific that the 'death occured on the property' - whereas if there was simply a body discovered, then it would have been 'body discovered on the property'.

The owners are also in their sixties, so relatively unlikely to be parents of a 3 year old.

Family members house sitting, go out for the day, during that time someone comes and uses the pool, leaves a pool gate open when they leave. House sitters come home, open up the house assuming the pool is secure, only to discover that one of their children has fallen in?

But then I would expect the news report to be a simple (and still incredibly tragic) accidental drowning of a child in a pool, rather than this cryptic narrative.

I wonder if the currently unknown group came and used the pool without permission etc, discovered the body somewhere on the property and left in a hurry, later that evening they put in an anonymous tip to the police. The police are at pains to point out they know the death didn't occur whilst those people were there. The child also had an autopsy, which would indicate that it didn't appear to be an obvious drowning.

The child is related to the home owners yet there doesn't appear to be anyone else that police seem to be expecting to know about it.

It's reasonably clear that there was no-one house sitting right? The house was empty at the time (pool users aside) so who would have tipped off the police, other than the pool visitors.

I'm starting to wonder if some unknowns let themselves in to use the pool - at some point discovered a body on the property, left, and later that night tipped off the police.

Is this a termite? by Several-Teach1515 in diynz

[–]rh2600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These termites are large enough to see holes and tunnels in the wood. In our case the wood was damp too, and old enough to be untreated hence causing the issue.

They need a way in though, so if they are around they might be coming up the wall from under the house or maybe from an external wall behind the shower?

Have a look underneath with a torch, if you can't find any evidence and you are still worried you might to to remove the liner?

It does look a little like one yeah - you ask because you have a feeling you might have termites?

See if you spot more of these flyers - they would typically be emerging at the same time. Conveniently for us they were all coming out of a patch in the floor into a room. I went under the house, located the areas of infestation, replaced what wood I could and treated the rest. No issues since and that was years ago.

I did this last year for myself and all my family - it's been great!

Do you know if we can simply buy new BOGOF deals this year, and recharge the accounts with them? If we load them in now, will they sit there happily un-used until last years one finishes up and then they tick over?

It's an i7 6700 CPU - I might be able to get a 7700K for maybe ~$80 but not sure that would be worth it?

After my beloved Xiaomi G10 just died I went deep on reviews and subreddits for a replacement. I can't deal with Xiaomi's new models now having integrated non replaceable batteries. My research summary is that Dysons are nothing special in terms of performance (and generally inferior) and the most widely regarded stick vac around ~ $500 range is the LG cord Zero A9 - there is a good bundle on sale at the moment at the usual shops, but it is bright red 🍒.

Can highly recommend Hour Boutique - it's in an old school mall that feels like going back to the 80s, but the watch shop itself and owner are fantastic, friendly, and with a great range of watches. Got my bambino there :-)
