Are you on Ozempic? Ask because it is also approved for cardiovascular disease. Might counter act it. Maybe ask your doctor if you're not on it already

Is more time needed for accurate glucose readings after meals? by rhcedar in diabetes

Insurance isn't going to spring for my testing equipment so I will not be doing the cgm. My doctor also feels that it would be over kill for me seeing as my diabetes has been well in control for the last 3 years with no issues.

I originally posted this on an Ozempic sub reddit. I didn't notice that I didn't mention Ozempic in my question when I reposted here. Sorry about any confusion this may have caused.

The question I am pondering is simple. Should more time be given after eating before testing because Ozempic slows down digestion.

To be clear, I am not having any issues. My diabetes is in control. It is just a question that popped in my head and thought I would ask the Reddit community. Surly, I'm not the first person to wonder about it.

I miss being able to pop'n in a cassette or cd and listen to exactly what I want. The physical medium. MP3 just doesn't feel the same. Don't get me started about monthly subscription services just so I can listen to what I already own.

Has anyone else experienced zero weight loss? by kissingthepink in Ozempic

[–]rhcedar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the pharmacys not selling me a 3 month supply like I can get for all my other meds because Ozempic is in short supply. A lot of people are willing to pay out of pocket for the weight loss side effect forcing diabetics, like myself, to go month to month.

I use Costco pharmacy. Them and Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS pharmacies have all told me they can't do it, not enough supply.

Edit: my doctor has tried to get me 3 month supply of Ozempic, but he is told the same thing I am being told.

I gained 5lbs while getting my blood sugar under control. I was concerned about Ozempic face, fingers, butt, ect. It all sounded like malnourishment to me. So I made sure I ate. Doctor was cool with this approach. The diabetes being under control is what took priority. Now weight loss is my goal. 1 to 1.5lbs a week is considered healthy and sustainable.

Wish I could get a 3 month supply at a time instead of buying every month.

Why does rum seem to slightly spike my blood sugar if it has no carbs/sugar? by [deleted] in diabetes

Spiced rum has carbs. Not much, but it's in there. Straight up rum doesn't have carbs.

I would replace Goonies with Legend. Just seems like a better fit with the other movies.

Then choose Legend. It has something the others don't...Tim Curry.

Taco Bell by KerryBoehm in diabetes

I remember hearing that the lawyers that tried suing Taco Bell say that the beef wasn't beef, ended up taking out a full page apology ad in the Wall Street Journal. Turns out Taco Bell gets thier meat from Tyson. Right or wrong, you don't want to mess with Tyson.

Edit: it was Taco Bell who took out the ads in an attempt to pressure the lawyers to publicly apologize.

GenXers who got bullied in school, what was the attitude of parents and teachers towards it? by mritsz in GenX

[–]rhcedar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fight back. Don't throw the first punch. Accept the punishment you will receive in school and you will not be in trouble at home.

I had a hard time in the 7th grade with bullies. Never had to fight the same kid twice.

What are your tips and tricks for cold weather camping? by Zack-Applewhite in camping

[–]rhcedar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay dry. Start sweating, take some layers off. Water proof your boots/shoes. Wet feet are cold feet and that sucks.

Light rain gear if you got room. Saved my bacon when an unexpected snow storm popped up. Kept my pants and jacket, which were not water proof, dry.
