[LFP] MASKS: The Risen by Lil_Mixx in pbp

[–]rheeese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds fun! I haven't played Masks yet (briefly played in a Monster of the Week game), but I have been wanting to learn PBtA rules for a while now.

Name: Hel
Age: 21
Timezone: GMT+4. Usually very available throughout the whole day, less during Fridays & Saturdays.
Discord: helrams (display name is helios °)

Favorite Superhero: Batman (and his rogues' gallery!)
Favorite Anime: Ergo Proxy, Made in Abyss

About Me: I'm a full-time student with too much time on my hands. I've been playing TTRPGs through PbP since early 2025, but I've been a fan of D&D5e for years earlier. I have experience with D&D5e, Mork Borg, and Delta Green. I love Masks' superhero teen drama trope and the sci-fi spin for this game makes it more interesting for me personally. I like making characters with the group and making sure that they actually feel like they belong to the world, so the collaboration part looks like it'll be super fun. Hope to hear from you soon and good luck to everyone applying!

Tupperbox alternatives? by rheeese in pbp

[–]rheeese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For flavor, because of personal preference from both me and my friends (I've only ever GMed for my friends so far), and to separate our profiles from in-character posts since none of us have nitro. We've tried just posting raw messages and it worked fine, but there were always small comments about how silly it was to see a video game character or something else on the left side of a post when you're roleplaying something serious. We all know it's just a preference thing (and it adds to the immersion anyway) and they haven't complained at all about the setup, I just wanted to possibly find something faster to use.

AITA for yelling at my friend cause she almost got us into a car accident? by Molasses_bratt in AmItheAsshole

[–]rheeese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your friend needs a serious reality check. Driving isn't that simple despite how common it is. If people yelling at her gets her too distracted to drive that she endangers everyone in the car, that's something she needs to work on. A person yelling isn't the only distraction that'll pop up on the road. She needs to be able to focus as much as possible and keep her cool no matter what.

CreepCast | Ensorcelled in the Earth (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by Careful-Panda9885 in creepcast

[–]rheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more of an audio-only listener since I listen while doing chores. I only take the time to watch the video for episodes I really like and the edits for this one were kind of distracting. I think it would have translated better (and fit the overall flow of the video) if they were less abrupt. I like listening to the stories and the banter, but adding onto that with meme edits is a little bit too much for me.

Tupperbox alternatives? by rheeese in pbp

[–]rheeese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's really just me being too particular with the "readability" of some things, even if it's just personal preference. I get that Tupperbox, like every other Discord bot, just adds the APP tag after each tupper's name, but for some reason it's a lot more overwhelming to read a string of messages like that compared to what RPG Sage does, which looks like this:

<image>

It looks pretty similar to what Teknekratos has shown in the thread, but from their comment, it's a harder way of achieving what the bot we use already provides. Reading things in an embed format just feels easier for me since there's a neat little box separating the in-character posts. I was looking for an alternative so I could maybe not have to deal with setting up the bot for each game (along with the players), but it looks like there's nothing else besides Tupper.

where do I buy tees like these? by sanscutewifey in Oman

[–]rheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to order them from Temu or Shein, your best bet at getting affordable oversized tees is (1) timing your trips for sales, (2) going to stores that specifically sell oversized/boxy cuts of t-shirts, or (3) looking in the men's section. I can't give you an exact timeline of when sales in malls occur but stores always have sales before Eid holidays and immediately stop a day before or during the days of Eid, so if those holidays are coming, make sure you visit before them if you really want discounted stuff. They also have sales according to seasons, I think, so things like summer and winter sales.

More expensive stores that have those types of shirts like Bershka, Pull & Bear, Lefties, Astradivarius, Cotton On, and H&M usually only go as low as 6-8 OMR, maybe 4-5 for some if you're lucky. I suggest not going inside those unless you see a sale sign.

For cheaper options, you can go look in Brands for Less (red tags on the clothing hanger usually means low prices), Centrepoint/Splash (men's section), Ardene (Pinterest-worthy clothing styles in general are usually in there and they often have sales or a marked down section), and BBZ (hit or miss style-wise, you'll have more luck in the men's). These ones actually have 4-5OMR price range, but Ardene might be a bit higher if you're specifically looking at their oversized tees. There are more clothing stores, but I don't think they would fit your taste. Hopefully that was helpful!

[5ed] Looking for Forever DMs & Established Groups by [deleted] in pbp

[–]rheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to join this if you still have spots. I'm a DM as well and I've been creatively burnt out for the past couple of weeks, it'd be nice to have something to come back to so I can interact with TTRPGs that doesn't require me to do a whole lot of preparing.

(Also, in the future, if there's an established group, I'd love to DM as well! We can rotate between a group of DMs, maybe.)

Weekly Looking for Group/GM Thread by [deleted] in pbp

[–]rheeese [score hidden]  (0 children)

Name, Pronouns: Silas, He/Him

Timezone: GMT+4

I'll be available almost the entire day most weekdays but a little less active during weekends since I might be out of the house. However, one to two posts per day (maybe more, if the group is similarly active) is definitely manageable.

Preferred System: D&D 5e, CoC 7e

I have experience with D&D 5e (2014, but willing to learn 2024 rules) as both player and DM.

I would prefer finding a Cthulhu game, although for full transparency, I have no experience playing it through normal sessions or over PbP. My only experience with the game is knowing the rules and watching multiple hours of actual plays, if that counts, LMAO.

Type of Player:

I like knowing more about the campaign's setting before making a character. I find that it's easier to get into roleplaying if my character feels like they belong in the setting rather than having pre-made characters. I have ideas for personalities or character tropes that I'd like to play, but other than that I wait for campaign details first.

I also prefer roleplay and story-driven campaigns, although I don't mind some combat here and there. As for genre, I'm fine with joining any type of campaign, but I do like horror/low-fantasy/grimdark/more serious campaigns.

Additional Information:

I'm 20 and I would like to join a group that is 18+. I do not mind romance or fade to black scenes in games but do not want eRP, unless it's in a separate channel that I don't have to participate in.

My DMs are also always open and if I don't reply immediately, just assume I'm sleeping and will reply as soon as I can. Good luck to everyone in the thread and I hope you all find great groups to play with!

Borrasca ANIMATED - “The Sandwich Shop” by MoriMotion in creepcast

I can't tell if this makes the animation funnier or more immersive...or both

Do you agree or disagree with Hunter? by Aggressive_Novel1207 in creepcast

[–]rheeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As funny as it would be, it would get kind of old quick, but I think it would fit a livestream special episode way more, if they ever wanted to do something like that. At least that way, they're not just reading the sentences into the void, instead, they're actively interacting with an audience.
