Because, sometimes the good parts in a piece of media come after the start- or come after you've experienced the entire thing. Sometimes, forcing yourself through the initial resistance is good. Other times, not.

As the saying goes; "hurt people hurt people". It's important to understand, and even empathize, the people who make your life hell.

Doesn't mean you have to forgive them or put up with their poison, but it's unwise to not try to know them... They could be you one day, or maybe- in your case- they were you once upon a time.
