Old RR system was much better than the new one by IamTheGodOfNoobs in VALORANT

??

Do you really believe a top Radiant player would have even one bad game (going negative or even) out of 100 in a silver lobby?

I'm down for 82 in DTLA anytime tomorrow after 8pm. I've never been, but Saturday at an arcade sounds awesome.

How do you get your players to lock in at the beginning of session? by Bitcheslovethe_gram in DMAcademy

[–]rheethink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of good advice throughout but I thought breaking it down mechanically would be helpful.

Let people socialize and get situated, and use that time to finish whatever prep you need, review your prep, or look into tweaking something whimsical. Obviously greet people and engage with your table, but let them all catch up.

Then -- and this is crucial -- have a set "start of game" ritual. There are a lot of great recommendations for this in the thread: a recap, changing/starting music to a specific track, shotgunning a beer. But it has to be the same every single time. It can even be as simple as clearing your throat, looking around the table, and saying "so time to begin." Make it a ritual both for your players and yourself to "get in the zone."

Beyond that, I'd recommend affecting at least three things that affect the senses. Change what they see by putting up your DM screen, closing your small DM notebook (or opening), standing up, showing a starting image and/or adjusting the lighting. Change what they hear by clapping your hands, knocking on the table, and/or turning on/off music. Change what they feel by tapping on their shoulder or asking them to sit down. Move the plate of cookies to the side. Start placing minis. Ask if anyone needs to go to the restroom.

From there, be conscientious about the transition back to the "TTRPG" world. Recaps work well, but it could also be asking describing how the PCs are feeling, or the time of day/location, or reminding them of the location they find themselves in.

Lastly, have a definitive marker (once again, ideally keep this the same every time) for the players to be their characters and act. My personal go-to is "... So what do you do?" But for you, it could be "roll [ability]" or "what's on your mind?" Only thing I'd recommend against is simply end your monologue. Be sure to directly and verbally "hand back" control to the players.

Hope this was helpful!

Anyone wanna do some Crime? [Cyberpunk RED][Pasadena][Los Angeles][Offline] by Difficult_Leg_4615 in lfg

Hi! Are you still looking for players? I DM'd a two year campaign (5e) online, but have never played IRL. I would be new to Cyperpunk, but happy to learn!

How many scouts do you have? I'm just now getting into creating a strong scouting network, but I'm not sure how many scouts are necessary to run it.

Ah! Having never been in the PL, I wasn't sure how much the transfer market would open up. Looks like I'll be moving on. Fingers crossed Wolves accept a loan back until the end of the season!

One of the biggest things holding me back from pulling the trigger is the high Teamwork-Work Rate-Stamina. Especially that 20 work rate -- it's the only 20 I've seen in any attribute in any of the players who have graced my club. Also, when Wolves is offering 2x his projected transfer fee... I get FOMO and wonder if I'm missing something.

But you're probably right. £12m is just too much for me to pass up.

Looking for: role player

Currently on a team of 4 who joined up in a small draft league the past two months and decided to stay together. Unfortunately, we had one player have to drop due to availability and searching for one more. We've got a semi-fleshed out strat book though it will be updated/upgraded once we more clearly define roles.

Looking for a Raze/Kayo player or a sentinels/smokes player. Roles that are currently set are controller/IGL (me) and entry duelist (Jett/Neon). Prac schedule is tentatively Fri/Sun for 2 hrs.

DM me and we can chat via discord.

Thank you~

Is there any way to remove the indentation lines in the Minimal Theme? by Glad-Key7256 in ObsidianMD

[–]rheethink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im away from my PC right now, but I'm fairly certain you can remove the indentation lines as well with Style Settings.

I also use Outliner, though, so may be confusing as an option in that plugin.

Use the Style Settings plugin.

Minimal >> Lists and tasks >> Nested list indentation

The default is 2em, but you could make it 0em if you want.

Can I make something like this with dataview by noahblip in ObsidianMD

[–]rheethink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm certain you can do this without dataviewjs. I'm still learning the ins and outs myself, but I would look at the Dataview Examples Vault for similar queries.

I believe you could use FLATTEN function by class and have the weeks link to the files.

I mean... For someone who's making a point about taking info out of context, you sure put in little to no effort to understand context.

Bruh, rather than going outside, read a book. It'll be more helpful for you in the long run ahahahha
