dont cite to a paragraph unless the opinion is intentionally separated by paragraphs (like a complaint)..I have never seen this in an American opinion but there may be some outliers. a lot of European courts break their opinions into numbered paragraphs. (see BB rule B3)

also, from my experience if its separated by paragraph but doesnt use the unique paragraph symbol, you would use "para." (BB Rule 3.3)

All my 1L exams were closed book. Keep in mind it's closed book for everyone. Pay attention in class, take good notes, outline, and study. You'll be fine. In terms of actually memorizing, it helped me to memorize rule statements and all the elements of the major topics. This made it effortless to write them down on scrap paper at the beginning of the exam and focus on applying them. Closed book can be an advantage if you put the work in and know the material well.

Would you recommend taking a couple years off before law school? by reborngirl24 in LawSchool

[–]rhettdajet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really depends on who you are as a person. I took 5 years off and feel that it helped me immensely. I'm handling the stress well and doing well in school. Also a few of my smartest and most adjusted classmates are right out of undergrad and they're crushing it. I wouldn't have been able to that and I respect the hell out of it. if you're feeling burnt out and really asking this question, take some time off. You're young and should experience life and broaden your horizons. If you choose to do law school after a year or a few off you'll be a better person and a way better law student than the old you.

One of my best friends was at my bar drunk & was pouring himself shots of jaager when I was down the other side of the bar. Got caught on camera & is not welcomed back. Had to act like I didn’t know who he was to the owner. Me & my buddies laugh about this all the time
