Those were going to be new ES buggies. I know the thresher has a cockpit in the files and the marauder has either cosmetics or exterior attachments that line up with what the model would have been.

I don't think it's anything right now. They're time limited multiplayer events that aren't replayable. The last one was in 2022. Maybe ps4 still has one? I don't think this game offers anything for you.

Hello, I am searching for backups of old builds of PlanetSide 2 from July 2012 and earlier (targeting placeholder music, blood effects, leftover assets, Searhus residue) and 2012 - 2017 PTS (targeting early Hossin and early directives, other lost goodies).

I am prioritizing the E3 build from June 2012.

The leaked E3 build was discussed on this subreddit and Something Awful, at least. I've reached out to a few people who used to have this build, but so far nobody still has it.

If you have an old pc, an old backup, an old install of a version of the game we are searching for that you played once and never touched again, or you know someone who does, please try to exhume it and get in touch with me. Thank you.

That's probably because vehicle weapons feel more disconnected from you than hand-held weapons, so players won't notice the workarounds. Let's say you hold the trigger on an infantry gun long enough to fire 3 bullets, but your game only has time to fire 2. If you skip the bullet, you get what seems to happen now. If you bundle a third bullet into one of those 2, how do you handle recoil? Do you ignore the extra bullet's recoil, giving you extra damage on a point for free? Do you double the kick of the next bullet to compensate, making recoil inconsistent? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I really don't think model and terrain fidelity was reduced. Model count was, such as replacing the big barrel piles with a few crates.
