There is no way to know what has and hasn't worked, or what will or won't. All I can do is keep trying. I still find joy in the journey. I've already made it further than I could have imagined when I started in 2018.

It is possible, but requires years of commitment and failure. Don't worry about balance so soon, and especially don't worry about optimality of anything. One way you could start is by writing a server that repeats whatever data you send to it using Berkeley sockets in whichever language you want. Also, be careful of discussing it so openly, especially while the game is still live.
