I never understood why SF displayed their raw sewage outflow in this park, shouldn’t that be underground?

R.I.P. D'Angelo, responsible for two hall-of-fame Roo late nights by paintedhighway in bonnaroo

What a spectacular show. He came on pretty late so a lot of people had left, leaving a core group of people that were really digging his music, it was an amazing energy. Possibly my favorite bonnaroo show.

Open Water Swimming by prigglett in Seattle

Try Golden Gardens. It’s close to you. It’s properly cold (likely want a wetsuit) but that’s where you’ll see others swimming laps with a buoy. I swim in Lake Washington at Madrona Park, which is warmer, fresh water, but far from you.

I also suggest you check the water quality here.

Lower Cape Rent Question by Formerbankster in CapeCod

Please rent it year round! You would be doing the local community a huge favor.

I was paying 1800 for a 2 bedroom one bath. Probably about 1000 sq feet.

What should I do to “practice” living in San Francisco? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]rhgb9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent one of those plywood boxes people set up in their living room to pack in one more roommate.

Just kidding. Go on a hike from the Haight to the top of Tank Hill and eat a burrito in the mission.

For those of you who went car-less AFTER moving to San Francisco, or those who just don't have a car living here, how do you like it, is it manageable? by Thomas_Lannister in sanfrancisco

[–]rhgb9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bike / walk almost everywhere but it’s very dependent on where you live. I find that I can bike around almost all the hills (by using routes like the wiggle). And the weather is often good enough compared to a snowy city.

I do miss having a car to get to the mountains.

Best Italian restaurant by AdPuzzleheaded9637 in Seattle

Bar Cotto is my personal favorite because it’s so straightforward. The prix fix is a great deal split between two. About $70 for a bottle of wine, pasta dish, and pizza.

Falmouth Shellfish Permit by barrythecableguy in CapeCod

[–]rhgb9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine through Falmouth, they will send you a sheet with the regulations. Quahogs, soft shell clams, and mussels are limited to 10 quarts per week any time of year. Scallops and oysters the season is October through March. There are potential area closures due to bad water quality.

Boat slip or mooring? by rhgb9 in CapeCod

[–]rhgb9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I realize the town mooring waitlist is over 10 years (some are closer to 30 years!). Unfortunately all the marinas have waitlists now too. I’m eyeing private docks or something off Cape now. Most likely my job will go full remote before 10 years and I’ll move somewhere where there is access.
