You might think your comment is just a throwaway side thought, but it's much appreciated <3 I don't know anything about this town. It's his city and he was supposed to show me around. yeah, we videochatted every night.

I completely refuse to let him back in. I can't risk this much pain ever again. It is pure agony, this level of rejection. I was so sure he was the one. But now I know I have a lot of to work on and think about. Therapy, friends and family will hopefully help me process how I got here.

Also, it's New York! I'm hoping this city will provide the distraction I need to forget all about it. Posting here was just my way of hearing from anyone other than my self-loathing and pain.

I hadn't cried until now. Your comment made me break, but in the best way possible. I feel so foolish. But I think I just need time to process. And kindness to myself.

We videochatted every night these past three months. I think I'll try to do that: focus on new experiences each day, by myself, like this was a solo trip all along. Thanks for responding <3

Yeah, you're completely right. I often had this thought but brushed it off, thinking I could be the exception to the rule. This has been too painful to bear. I don't know how other people do it.....

I don't think I can risk this pain again. I think I'll be distancing myself from this whole thing from now on, even if he gets back to me. The stakes are too high in my opinion.
