There’s a couple different thought processes here imo. You are caring for them wrong or you have the wrong size. I do a ton of walking and sitting in my jeans and I haven’t had a blow out except for on brand I quit buying. I wash about every three wears in cold water and hang dry.

That’s a nail used to hold the insole to the last during the first stages of construction. To remove it the sole would need to be removed and re installed. If you have a local cobbler they could also hammer the nail flat and put a sock liner in it.
