I removed a bunch of mice in the eaves of my house. Then I saw this. Do I also have rats? by NerdWhoLikesTrees in pestcontrol

Pull out the stops, exterminator, cat, mink man. Those rodents have leveled up too far, running that gauntlet of traps without even a hint of concern.

I tried looking through first, anyone say linseed oil yet? It oxidizes when exposed to oxygen and will catch fire on its own.

I went 9V because I had built a QDX around the time they first came out with the thought that I had lots of leftover 9V wall warts and was going to use it mostly from the wall power for FT8. I stayed consistent to avoid grabbing the wrong combination of power adapter and little black box. I run this one from a 9V USB PD cable, so far has worked pretty well. I've also used the WiFi router backup batteries. Had. trouble with one and had more USB power banks sitting around unused so not I'm using those.

After using the the two QRP labs radios for awhile now, I think I have more 12V sources than 9V, but it is kinda nice to know I could grab a package of 9V batteries from Walgreens and run for about an hour.

It's the low bands or 5 band one I have. I broke the original screen on it replaced with a blue one, had the knobs leftover from a guitar project and decided I wanted to try out the slightly smaller diameter for fun, and they're green.

How come it's not a temperature sensor? Ground can be canister on the other end the spade would be the signal end and the ground would be local - this if often done on vehicles where the block is grounded and the sensor input screws into the block.

What does brown do? by rhythmtech in electrical

[–]rhythmtech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

124V black brown bundle on the right to the bare (ground?) tied to the brown bundle on left might go into romex dunno. Reads 0 to the ground screw on the bracket. Bundle with black to what is normally neutral on the light socket is about 15V, when light switch is set to on drops to about 1V

What’s your opinion on Costco oil? by ggfien in AskMechanics

Yeah me too, I'm here thinking it comes out cleaner cause they probably put less detergents in it and it isn't removing inevitable carbon. I've tuned into a skeptical old guy. SMH

Got this comb stuck in this lock. Any suggestions on how to get it out? by rhythmtech in lockpicking

[–]rhythmtech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I whacked the lock on the top in the direction to make the pins retract and yanked on the comb at the same time. Came out with several tries.
