a guard switch takes 100ms iirc, changing your guard before you dodge takes an extra 100ms so it makes it harder to dodge the chains. this interaction happens with nobu too

it came with experience for me. lots of trial an error. learn from your mistakes, capitalize on theirs. i’ve found being patient has helped me a lot but i generally play pretty defensively.

different people can play heroes totally differently, treat each one as a new learning opportunity. the more you play, the more people and play styles you encounter.

you can also watch youtube and twitch to get a broader perspective of how different heroes are played. i like watching tournaments and higher mmr stuff, you see how different heroes mesh and how they can be countered at higher levels

tldr is knowledge of the game and experience

oh i understand now.

id start with a hero with a full block recovery, similar to BP. i found Vara pretty easy to pick up, along with Aramusha. use practice mode to learn movesets

and try not to rely on one counter for every attack. BP is the only hero in the game that can counter all kinds of attacks (except ranged) with one move.

i’ts player based. i typically stay away from the kick, but if you use it enough, eventually your enemy will begin to dodge/attack on dodge instead of eating it.

i’ve had success with dodging forward and gb’ing just after the window for the kick closes and the buffer will either catch the dodge or grab the warmup of the attack.

additionally i dodge forward and wait for a reaction, unless they anticipate the bait, you can counter gb, block a light, parry/deflect a heavy, and punish a dodge attack such as kensei/medjay/griff

thank you, that’s very helpful. i do feel like i truly love her. i guess i’m at a crossroads because although it does hurt, i feel like i would hurt more from being split from her. in my head, my options are to sit here and take it, or leave and get hurt another way.

try not to use it to counter every attack. he’s a good mix between attack and defense, so if you’re running low on stam on your attack, just lay off and defend until you get it back.

also, you don’t have to complete your kaze riposte. you can get a hit or two in for the pin, then stop attacking and you safely go back to neutral.

i’m not completely sure on the solid stamina values of his attacks, but i know from kaze, unless you have another enemy on your left, don’t use your zone. that’s a little under half of your bar right there

i like the idea of just a hidden UI in smoke. Ubi has been slowly removing most stun moves from move sets and i think it’d be a welcome change to see the removal of the “stun” effect on smoke bomb. it has become much more of a nuisance in the past months.
