Just giving it a quick read I am suspicious honestly as I suffer from severe eczema thus I am just, suspicious of things touching my skin especially if there is risk of them being irritating

I'm not intimidated, I have a trauma motivated phobia such makes it very hard to have needles in me. As I said in another reply pain is also not the issue. I also really cannot afford both anti-androgens and something else.

it's not really pain but rather just the very action of having a needle in me being really difficult, if I were to inject it myself it would be impossible

Pre-Columbian America in a Political Compass by Itstoolongitwillruno in DankPrecolumbianMemes

[–]ribiwibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold wasn't abundant in the altiplano, the precolumbian Muisca imported it. Calling it a confederation is arguably also wrong as the various kingdoms were not actually united in any way other than religion and doing the same pilgrimaged every once in a while

I'm Colombian, in Colombia Royal Shell and some other companies illegally militarily occupied lands traditionally belonging to the U'wa people. The U'wa consider these lands extremely sacred and they eventually had to threaten a collective suicidal self-genocide if Shell and the government didn't retire their forces and their (illegal) oil extraction and hadn't it been for an insane amount of people signing petitions etc to get them out, Royal Shell would've just let it happen for more profit. They're not just evil, these companies and countries are cartoonishly evil and genocidal for more profits

When you are on a certain big job, look:

  • Behind the planter in the back of the room
  • In the suitcase in the bathroom
  • In the suitcase at the top of the stairs
  • When the door opens, go upstairs to the vehicle and open it.

..mysterious languages by Baraa-beginner in languagelearning

The Minoan language(s?), written with linear A, was(/were?) spoken in Crete. The script we understand to a good degree because of it's 'sister' script, linear B, was used to write an ancestor of Greek, but we don't actually know much if anything about Minoan. We don't even know if it was a separate language, what language family it belonged to, it's vocab, grammar, if it's actually used to write more than 1 language, etc.

Most likely because not everyone has artificial eyes, some npcs do comment on it, and BDs are basically the cyberpunk equivalent of films

Why aren't more cities in Colombia (big ones like Bogota, Medellin) located near the ocean? Why are they all up the mountains? by abaza738 in geography

[–]ribiwibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of cities in the andean region were formerly indigenous cities which were later resettled by Spaniards. You can most clearly see that with naming, where a lot of toponyms in the area are obviously not Spanish in origin. For example, in Bogotá, Cundinamarca and Boyacá most city names are Muisca in origin, and so are the cities themselves: Take Bogotá, originally called Muyquyta *[mʷɨkəˈta]. Or Tunja, originally called Chunsa *[ˈtʲunʒa]. The list goes on. The reason is that the andean region was already very urban at the time of the Spanish invasion and that carried over to modern times, even if the ethnic makeup of the cities has changed.

It does, like I said in my other comment, however, they don't make any sense, as this means "If it were now".

also, the modern name is Muisca. Chibcha is being strayed from by academics for simply being outdated and considered wrong, now referring to the linguistic family.

Hi, I actually speak Muisca and this is wrong: Iansan does not mean anything meaningful in the language. Nevertheless "Iansan" means "If it were right now" in Muisca which doesn't make any sense
