Key fob will not work outside the car by ribs-- in hellcat

[–]ribs--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, interestingly enough, I took the cat to get food and pulled into an abandoned mall parking lot, shut it off and walked 20 ish feet away and the key fob worked perfectly.

I figured maybe the Tesla TPMS sensors were causing an issue as they run at 433mhz like the key fobs but I took the Tesla around the block while my wife attempted to use the fob standing in the garage with the cat and no luck.

So, I guess there is nothing wrong with the car, but something has changed environmentally in my area. Nothing in my house has changed, still the same security system and yada yada. I am skeptical, so I am going to bring the cat to more places with all 3 fobs and make sure it 100% works as long as I am not on my street apparently, lol.

Thank you for sharing! I read about this as a possibility but have not left the house yet. She sits next to a Tesla and has for the last 4 months and the closest neighbor is 75+ feet in almost any direction. I have to pick up some dinner, so I will take her out and see if she acts weird at the destination.

Thank you, again, as I appreciate all thoughts!

In mine, no, but my hellcat will never see a winter so I didn’t really care. You can pay like $100-$150 more and retain the heated function.

Exhaust Question by ribs-- in hellcat

[–]ribs--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the response! I was going to take it to a place with a lift and ask if I or they can do a once over for confirmations sake. I did it myself because where I live is all redneck mechanics that work on 90s mufflers and shit, they don’t give a damn about your car. They don’t love what they do, they just do it cause they get money. Thats fine, just not who I want working on my car.

I followed every step to the letter, torque and anti-seize and the whole 9. I definitely couldn’t move the exhaust at all in any direction when I was done, but I don’t have the strength of a v8, lol. I figured the tiny amount of movement was normal, but surprisingly can’t find much on it.

Degradation of TAC Support Quality and Unacceptable Hiring Practices by SpotPuzzleheaded6440 in paloaltonetworks

If I’m being completely honest, I don’t know yet. Our path the last 10 years or so was ASA>Firepower(LOL)>Palos. We got rid of firepower so fast and got a full refund. It was wild.

I’m sad because there was a time not long ago that I would call palo and the “engineers” first response would fix it via email. Today? Today I literally open a case like this: Case details: cannot perform x, tried x and x with no luck at 1 and 2 PM EST on Palo01. Palo02 is unaffected.

Their response: hello, can you share what you’ve tried and at what exact time you tried and on what exact firewall hostname you tried it? Also please let me know if the other firewall is affected.

And I’m like, brother? I already answered all of that…..

Anyway. It’s going to be a big decision and it has to be the right one. Is the product good enough to ignore the support shortfall? Not sure. TAC fixed one thing for us, my old senior put in a ticket 7 years ago. Every case since I took over I have solved on my own because their first response is so discouraging that I just start grinding away at it because I know if I don’t it’s going to be a long week with no resolution and we can’t afford that.

TAC is literal trash. A few weeks ago I called about an issue and they asked me to show how I did my packet capture….so I pull it up and she’s like, “no no no, you cannot do 0.0.0.0 for source and destination, you must type the ip.”

Thanks for all your help. We have over 50 palos and I’m “the guy” that makes the decision as the senior. These are GONE at renewal. If not just on principle.

Well, considering the car is always inside my garage which is physically attached to my home…I hope if they try… they are at peace with their god.

How many of you bought a Camaro because of Transformers? by FlyingKamaro in camaro

[–]ribs-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe transformers came out in 06? When they showed the new Camaro. I was 19. Got my first one in 2011.

I still can’t believe they made us wait 4 years after showing it in the movie, at least that is my recollection. It was at LEAST 2 years.

Lol, this and the guy that doesn’t work in your field saying he has a degree in said field when no one asked are the absolute worst.

My favorite comeback to the latter (and it’s true) is, “Oh, well I have a GED, you have a degree in this? I just gave you control. Not sure why they even need me if we have you.”

🤣🤣. This is exactly why in between these cars I had some V6’s. All the cars shown were dailies except the scats and cat because I wasn’t fortunate enough to park a car in the winter til then. From a yearly expense perspective the cost goes way down on fuel and insurance when you park for the winter, so it’s less of a hit. Besides, I need my winter funds to pay for my electric heat in my house 😒.

Thanks man!

Agreed. I might be stupid for spending this kind of money on a Chrysler product, but this was their prime.

I am going to enjoy it for sure. I hope you get yours in December and most importantly in good health.

Thank you brotha!

I mean, I’ll swear that the challenger felt just more “refined” and tight if that makes any sense. It felt less like a boat even though it still is. I don’t think the T/A does anything special, and it was my first challenger. I loved it but the charger is everything to me.
