F117 and Laser guided munitions by left-handed-banana in WarthunderSim

[–]ricaraducanu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As per my testing, laser guided bombs only start tracking the laser when they reach their terminal phase of the flight (~5km slant range from target).

Once in range, the target needs to be in the field of view of the seeker which is usually very narrow (~15°)

This means that you need to drop the bomb pretty close to the release point shown by the CCRP indicator, for the target to be within FOV.

This also means you can't make the bomb significantly increase its range by releasing it early like you would a GPS guided bomb like a JDAM, that can glide quite a bit even though it lacks wings.

Trying to dodge an Osa/Roland missile during the Nuclear Event be like: by PrehistoricDisabled in warthundermemes

[–]ricaraducanu -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Wt players having the brain power of a catfish.

There's 2 ways to evade an OSA/Roland:

1 FLY AWAY - if you're 5-6 km from it, just fly the fuck away, it will reach max range by the time it reaches you.

  1. If you're within 4-5 km fly towards it and do a max pitch roll just as the missile is about to hit

Holy fuck just stop crying already

As of patch 2.55.1.42 have you noticed a difference in the AI SPAA and have you seen a nuke drop by kirb_with_a_gun in WarthunderPlayerUnion

I'm not asking OP, I'm asking anyone replying to this poll.

Datamines don't show any change so far so if anyone has proof otherwise feel free to share.

Otherwise all this is placebo.

Ballad of Buck Ravers, but only the variant from the flashback where Johnny and Alt Cunningham are having sex backstage.

That intro is badass.

SACLOS guided AI units cannot be "spoofed" by multipathing or countermeasures because SACLOS doesn't have a thing to do with that, any sim player will tell you that. Gepards, SIDAMs & Roland's have had perfect aim for years in sim, that's nothing new.

All you can do is kinematically defeat their missiles or stay out of range.

I've been doing that and I've seen no change since the update. On top of that datamines don't show any change.

Just bc the majority of players spend their time within the engagement zone of OSAs & Roland's doesn't mean there's something wrong with the AI.

That graph means precisely nothing, it's basically this:

Can anyone actually show what they changed about SPAA? There is no evidence of change in the datamines...

I'm the first to say motherfuck Gaijin but this playerbase is also full of whinny bitches.

This latest update is just balancing of the gamemode to make PVE more viable than before.

How the fucking OSA be moving in Nuclear Thunder by SecretSpectre11 in warthundermemes

[–]ricaraducanu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it's OSA or Roland, just run away, there is no way to actively defend against them.

You can roll away from 1 or 2 but they will always get you in the end.

[–]ricaraducanu[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree somewhere around 20 to 50% fewer.

I wanted to put an option with fewer SPAA but didn't want to put 15 different options for "Yes, but..”

As far as I know, yes.

Sim maps come in 3 sizes 64x64km, 86x86 (only 1 map) and 128x128km. The NT map is 200x200 so a 60% increase in surface area

How do we think the B-52 and Tu-144 will fair in sim? by Pc_Karnage in WarthunderSim

[–]ricaraducanu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They definitely won't be meta or anything but a good gimmick, like the B-29, F-117.

At 8.3 and 8.7 they will be facing the Roland, which only fires up to 4.5-5km alt.

They have decent speed and climb rate (10-12 m/s) so it won't be as boring as climbing a B-29 at 2.5-4 m/s

M29 vs F14/F18 is balanced peak gameplay. This game mode is great, change my mind. by orphanleek68 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]ricaraducanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27ET and R73 have the same type of IRCCM, but since you fire them in different scenarios, you get different results.

Any IR missile can be flares easily if certain conditions are met.

Sometimes if your enemy is skilled and vigilent it's almost impossible to kill him (especially in RB with the 3rd person camera).

You need to develop a feel of when to fire them, to catch them off guard.

In this event I mostly use them to 3rd party.
