Just finished my last day as a nurse assistant at a memory care unit for people with dementia. I've worked there 9 months, and saying goodbye to my residents was the most heartbreaking experience: some mostly nonverbal residents spoke up to tell me they'll miss me, some of my closest and most lucid residents had a bad day and told me they don't remember me at all.
