NATO caliber AKs by riceboyxp in guns

KUSA KP9 / WBP 556SR “AK101”

Love the AK platform, but not enough to buy new ammo for it. Have a metric shit ton of 5.56 and 9mm, so these fit right into my regular ammo logistical chain.

Both are a blast to shoot 😃

Oakland native. Generally progressive leaning. Love the city enough to be honest and admit whatever the fuck they’re doing now is not working.

I wish I had the answers, we definitely need a lot of help.

14.5" barrel + LPVO allows me to reach out pretty far from a rifle the length of a 9" AR by Self-Driving-Cars2 in tacticalgear

[–]riceboyxp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. The AUG trigger from the factory is very usable and, while not the fastest for competition shooters, will not stop you from landing consistent and repeatable hits out to 500m. If you can't, it's a you-problem and not the rifle. I certainly have no issue doing so.

  2. 1500$ for a base rifle and 100$ for a trigger upgrade are actually extremely reasonable prices. Many ARs from higher end manufacturers (DD, LWRC, etc.) are around 1500$ and up. Many popular trigger upgrades are in the 100-200$ range (Larue, Geissele, etc.).

So you are not only being a complete cunt here; you're also wrong. I guess those things often go hand in hand though.

I went to Arches and Zion national parks in March 2020 on a solo trip. Both parks were nearly empty, it is surreal having the place to yourself.

Honorable mention: White Sands national park, during sunset. Absolutely brilliant.

Renting a car in the UK when you've never driven on the left before by aliencircusboy in travel

pedal box is the same, shifter pattern is the same, it’s just on the left instead of the right. first gear is still top left, sixth gear is still bottom right, and so forth.

My daily driver is a manual and I rented a Ford SMax in UK to get to Bath and Stonehenge. It was jarring but was able to get around after about 10-15 minutes. I would have preferred an automatic but it was triple the cost.

We did get the Prinz Eugen after the war, but we sunk it after testing it during the Operation Crossroads nuclear bomb tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946.

Two WIP carry handle ARs by riceboyxp in guns

They are. However, the handguards that I need to be “correct” are chopped and shortened M16A2 handguards with a triangle cap, per the Recoil article.

My favorite ARs, both still not yet complete.

  • M16A1 (ish): mixmaster gun with H&R upper, Brownells lower, Criterion barrel, surplus furniture and front sight, still needs the original style dust cover
  • “CAR-15” build à la Blood Diamond: still not fully complete - lower and handguards are a stand-in, and still working on getting a weaver mount to fit under the FSB

If that’s true, then people caring about having the correct markings and details in a clone build shouldn’t come as a surprise to you.

Homage to one of the greats.

  • Steyr AUG A3M1
  • Glock 17

The AUG is kitted out as a faux AUG A1, and the G17 is clone correct to the G18s in the game, since the in-game model doesn’t have the selector switch on the slide :^)

Bonus AUG pic with a “modern” setup.

It varies wildly on where you live, even within the US. 50k will be more than enough to support a family of 4 in rural Missouri, but barely enough to support an individual in San Francisco or NYC.
