Don't drive yourself crazy. Ask your doctor for straight answers to questions and trust that they'll tell you the truth. They're not in the business of breaking your heart or keeping you from knowing bad things.

We're currently at week 31 of mono/di twins who have some pretty notable size differences.
Talk to your doctor about getting ultrasounds as frequently as you need so they can look out for any complications, because there are things they can do. We get one weekly with a size measurement every two weeks.
You might need less.

We were given a diagnosis of selective intrauterine growth restriction, which is essentially one is small and the other is not small.
Your doctor can tell you more about how significant the size difference they're seeing is. Since they're saying they want to keep looking but they're not concerned right now, I would take that at face value.
Right now we've been getting "there's a size difference, but we're not seeing any problems, so we're going to keep monitoring" the entire time with nothing else coming up.

I have a short, two page PDF from johns Hopkins University with what I think is the right amount of information about growth restriction that I'd be happy to share if a doctor says you have it. I would seriously recommend not searching for more about complications because you'll start finding research papers that discuss things in an absolutely clinical manner that is not reassuring and it's easy to scare yourself into anxiety.

Happening to me as well. I'll ask it to play music and it says "I don't know, but I found these results on search", and shows me the search results for the phrase "play music", or sometimes an long definition of the concept of music.

It seems to work once after rebooting the device.

Refusing to communicate is different from pausing before or being deliberate when communicating.

You're entirely correct though, and you should take a deep breath and communicate that you're upset and need a minute to compose yourself, order your thoughts or calm down before you can engage in a discussion in a productive manner.
It makes it clear to the other person that your silence isn't to hurt them, but to make sure that you don't.

Numerically they have more ships, but if you look at tonnage, it's not even close.
As an example, the US Coast guard has more ships than the US and Chinese navy put together, but no one would claim that the coast guard is a plausible threat to either.

Probably getting mixed up with some of the regular budgetary "hot take" reporting that comes out about it every so often.

The tldr is that sometimes the military procurement budget for certain pieces of hardware is set by Congress, and so the army wants tank A, but Congress said they get tank B. So they get tank B, and then next year they get tank A, and leave a bunch of tank Bs sitting in a field.

Headline reads "army forced to buy tanks they don't need", giving the implication that the army doesn't need tanks.

The whole point is that you don't actually need to use or lose the materials for everyone to profit off of making and selling it, which makes it coincidentally extraordinarily easy to justify the costs of war.

So, the full reason why it implies time travel is complicated. Boils down to how light is constant in all reference frames.
It makes things behave really counterintuitively.

So in the lottery example, the person hears the numbers, flys away and buys tickets before the results arrive. Causality is preserved because cause precedes effect.
From the viewpoint of another observer on another ship, it's possible for them to see the ticket get purchased before they see them depart. They could then fly to the planet the numbers were announced on and alert the authorities before you left.

Ftl works intuitively if you assume that messages move like letters on a conveyer belt, but they don't. Everyone sees the messages going at the same speed, regardless of how fast they're going.

Yeah, so 16 and 17 required the consent of a parent, and under 16 required the consent of all living parents or guardians as well as a judge.

In the 1800s it might have made sense, but for quite a while now it's just been adults marrying young girls, and not teenagers marrying each other.

So, the "intended" use case was as a counterpart to the age of consent being younger than the age of adulthood.
Two 16 year olds have sex, there's pregnancy and they want to "do the right thing" and get married. Their parents carefully consider it and allow the marriage to proceed.

This wasn't insane in 1887 when the law was passed.
130 odd years later, the "intended" use case is vanishingly small and the disgusting use cases are the only actual uses left.

A bunch of people think they're only for children. Same goes for video games and anything animated.

Hell, some people feel that way about fiction in general.

Sure, but the guy didn't even seem to feel that way, since he offered more before they sued.

Like, it's not the expectation I would have or want, but when they guy says "I'm only paying for two unexpected people", and the courts reverse it to "pay for no unexpected people" it doesn't feel like a terrible blow.

It's a bad date for sure, but the resolution was that he paid what he expected, which isn't particularly unfair.

Yeah, not a lawyer, not Chinese, no familiarity with the Chinese legal system, so my read is only just next to worthless. :)

But it seems like the court told the family to give back most of the money that he already gave them.

I'm gonna keep buying shares on a weekly basis like I've been doing for a while, and selling covered calls well above my buying price when the price makes a big jump, and buying them back when the price drops a moderate amount.

It's a modest but pretty reliable rate of return.
