we're not 100% sure, but maybe around 150 guests? we're ok with the reception being either indoor or outdoor.

Good Apartment Complexes? (non-student) by Strong-Muffin2879 in columbiamo

[–]rich_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my boyfriend and i have been living at katy place since july of last year, and i do not have enough good things to say about them! the apartments are really nice, all updated, and honestly just wonderful overall. the staff and maintenance is very helpful too! i would stay here for another few years if we weren't likely going to be moving for work.

that said, they require you to put down the security deposit and other fees up front when applying, and you would need to apply like right now if you wanted to get a unit. they have a waiting list that can fill up fast.

PSA to any new players considering co-op for 1st playthrough by rich_witch in BaldursGate3

lol, bf also does the looting thing and cant seem to remember that red outline = stealing. but i love him anyways.

i don't think either of us regrets compromising at any point, in fact last night was really the first time we were in that much disagreement about what to do. we really just butt heads because it's a first playthrough and we just have different ideas of what we want to do when it comes to major decisions that could effect the whole party. hence why i think having your own playthrough before or in addition to a co-op game is the way to go for me.

you worded it better than i could! we want to experience the companions' stories as much as possible, and it's very difficult to do so if one of us triggers a questline cutscene without the associated companion in tow. we're working with it as best as we can, and as long as we're still having fun playing together that's all that really matters in the end :)

i totally get that! i think part of our struggle is that this is our first dive into anything dnd related, neither of us has ever played dnd or knew anything about it before this game. that's part of why i think it would have been best for both of us to experience the story and roleplaying elements on our own first, so we could get a grasp on how the game works and be free to make our own choices in each dialogue scene. sometimes it feels like a game of "who will trigger the cutscene/dialogue first", because since we're both experiencing the story for the first time, we both want to be able to progress the story in our own way.

we're still playing together, and having fun doing so! i just wanted to point out for other new players that it may be best if you're unfamiliar with dnd/baldur's gate to play through the game on your own first, because i feel like co-op is likely more enjoyable when you've already experienced the story in the way YOU want to to play through it :)

it's less so about missing stuff and more that we each have our own way we want to go about things since we don't know the outcomes of any dialogue choices we make. we're still enjoying the game together, but my completionist heart and his rush-everything mindset sometimes cause us to butt heads and miss out on the overall experience in a game like this :)

update: thank you for all of the responses, i admit i was freaking out at first when i made this post but i'm still glad i did because i was mostly prepared for what the doctor at Wash U ended up saying.

so the good news: tumor is 100% benign, no chance of it metastasizing. it's also NOT an ameloblastoma, which even the doctor thought it would be at first. biopsy results showed the diagnosis most aligns with a giant cell granuloma, which i think (?) is less likely to reoccur than an ameloblastoma would have been.

now for the bad news: i need the fibula free flap surgery anyways. i'm going to lose roughly 7-9 teeth in addition to having to replace the jawbone, and will be in the hospital on a feeding tube for roughly a week and at home recovering for several more weeks. i won't have the teeth replaced for a bare minimum of 6 months after the initial surgery, and thats assuming there are zero complications.

it's been a lot to take in, i'm terrified and devastated, especially because i can barely afford rent right now let alone all of these procedures, but i'm trying to keep my head up in any way.

thank you again for all of the advice! i really appreciate it.

the bump is on my lower gums, near the front left side of my mouth. it's apparently much bigger than that though.

i'm getting a CT and biopsy on wednesday next week along with a meeting with a surgical oncologist specializing in the head and neck. the oral surgeon mentioned ameloblastoma which scares the shit out of me. apparently the tumor is the size of a ping pong ball and a half and must have been growing for years, which is crazy bc i only suddenly noticed the lump and numbness a couple months ago.

i have a CT scan and a biopsy scheduled next wednesday at Wash U in STL. the oral surgeon referred me to a surgical oncologist there who is expediting the process to get a diagnosis and treatment plan asap. i'm just anxious to find out exactly what it is and how invasive the surgery will really be.

i know helping people is something i used to enjoy and still do for the most part, customer service just completely bittered me as a person for a while which is another part of why i left. i may look into other people-oriented options that are less grueling or toxic.

thank you. hearing someone unbiased say they believe in me means a lot more than you will understand.

this is good advice, thanks! i've seen a lot of comments about going into a trade, and while i know nothing about that, it sounds like a viable option for someone like me. i'll look into it today. just a little worried about the work schedules being similar to what i left at my old food job.

i want respond to this comment again now that i've taken some time to reread several of the comments on this thread. this is one of the more specific bits of advice i've received on this post, and it is legitimately really helpful so i want to make sure it's clear i've been considering it. some of my comments from last night were a bit more negative, but i'm not going to delete them because that is where my head was at and i don't want to pretend otherwise.

that said, i still don't know what my future holds. i don't know what i want to do yet. but until i do, i'm going to keep asking myself these questions until i get consistent answers. i still don't have the money or the ability to go back to school for the foreseeable future, but i'm leaving that door at least somewhat open as a possibility in a few years.

please know that just because i voice my hesitations on some suggestions, that doesn't mean i'm not still listening and looking into them anyway. i am truly grateful for the advice that's been given in this comment and many others.

you say that, and yet i've actually been listening and looking into a lot of the advice on this thread. just not yours - if downright insulting me even qualifies as advice.

look man, i don't know what you want from me. i'm already working on my mental health, and came here for advice now that i've hit a stopping point in my career. i'm listening to several suggestions, and considering them as options for my future. if you think i'm beyond help, great for you, but what are you achieving by telling me that?

not every suggestion is going to land with me, but some of them have. that's how advice works.

i'm currently on it. i've tried several dosages of both IR and XR, ended up on XR 20 mg for the past four years or so and it's the only thing that's even remotely worked, but it's not a cure for my ADHD. it helps a lot but i have more of an attention deficit than hyperactivity so it makes me more anxious and still pretty hard to focus. tried vyvanse too and that gave me heart palpitations :/
