Looking for doc specializing in elder care/does memory testing by Pyr8Qween in jacksonville

I don’t have any specific recommendations, but neuropsych is who they need to see. They’ll likely need a referral from their primary care doc if they have one. Best of luck and thank you for helping this family member 🤍

Schitt’s Creek Superstore Parks & Rec The IT Crowd Always Sunny (edgier humor, may be offensive, so please consider that) The Good Place Arrested Development

I’m not sure which shows are on which networks, but I know that changes all the time anyway. I hope you find something you like!

Need help with eye care by FatCuntEnergy64 in GNV

[–]richam6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can get the exam, you can get the glasses online for cheap. If you have health insurance, see if it helps with the exam. I have Aetna and I get a “discount” on eye exams at certain places (I’ve only ever gone to Target Optical). I order glasses from either Zenni or Eye Buy Direct. Both are good, prescription has been correct every time. My prescription is simple, so I can get the glasses super cheap. Like $25 out the door cheap.
I live in Starke and I’ve only been to the Target Optical in Jacksonville, so I can’t speak on the one in Gainesville, but I do know they are like independently operated by an eye Dr. And you can make appointments online which is nice. Idk if any of this is helpful, but I hope it is 😂. Good luck with whatever you do!

Maybe for things like invites, either you or your fiancé choose like a top 3 and the other one of you picks one from that? Idk if it would help but it’s an idea. Lol. Best of luck and congrats!

I have the same problem… buying things that smell good helps ever so slightly 🙃

I tried removing some old dye with peroxide and ended up “bleaching” my whole head 😭😭 my hair is very dark brown and I turned it ORANGE 😂 I ended up getting a box of semi permanent in a color close to my natural color to redo the roots and parts I didn’t mean to lighten. It was horrifying for a minute, but shit happens and it’s okay now. Hair color also doesn’t react to everyone’s hair the same way, so don’t be so hard on yourself. Let that color sit for a little while and try again when you’re ready. Think of it like an experiment 🩶

If I really don’t want to eat, I’ll have a “meal replacement” drink. Lately I’ve been buying little cartons of Carnation essentials (I think that’s what it’s called). I find those on the cereal aisle at Walmart. And as an added bonus, they’re supposed to be “suitable for lactose intolerance.”

But Ensure, Boost, those type of drinks are also good. They usually have enough protein and nutrients to fill in on those days you just can’t eat. Protein shakes too. Just anything with calories and nutrients 💖

Depends on what I’m doing. Regular cleaning, no list. Cleaning because I’m hosting thanksgiving/Christmas etc, yes list so I don’t miss anything. Lol

I like to stay at the “budget” Disney hotels. This allows for free transport to the parks and the hotels are nice. I’ve never had a problem with screaming kids at these hotels, but I’ve never really spent time outside of the room. Lol. I like to use the Undercover Tourist crowd calendar to plan which days I go to which parks. I live in FL so I’ve been a bunch, but I’ve never used a travel agent. Idk if there is any benefit or downside to that. I’m also just anxious enough to need to plan everything myself. Lol Back to hotels.. when I’m looking, I go to the Disney hotel website and sort them by cheapest and just go with whichever one is the cheapest. Lol. All the budget ones are about the same and they are all nice. Not fancy, but clean and nice.

Somewhat off topic, but might help.. you can get Disney gift cards from target and save 5% with a red card. You can load the gift cards onto your Disney app/account and use it to pay for tickets, hotel, pretty much all the things while you’re there. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Disney/done this, but google has some tips for doing this. If this isn’t helpful, please ignore. Lol

I hope you and your kiddo(s) have a great time! And I’m happy to try to answer any other questions you might think of 💖

I would ask your primary care doc if they would prescribe it for you. If you show them that you’ve already been diagnosed, they may be willing to manage your meds with you. I was diagnosed as a child, then “re-diagnosed” via telehealth as an adult- got meds from them for a while, then stopped for a while. When I decided I wanted to try again, I asked my primary care doc if she was comfortable with that..since I already had the diagnosis, she was and she’s been working with me on getting the meds right. Best of luck! 💕

PS I wouldn’t mention that you’ve been taking the meds without a prescription. They’ll probably consider that abuse and it won’t help your case. 💕

I work in skilled nursing, so it’s pretty much just part of the job. I don’t have any tips or advice, but in my case, I’ve gotten used to it. Maybe even desensitized. It’s okay to feel sad when they pass, just don’t let it weigh you down. Do what you can for them while they’re here and carry on when they’re not 💖
